Beautiful hotel, friendly people. The maid did a botch job of making the bed, but who cares. Was locked out of the minibar, but boy did they bend over backwards to fix it. Can't beat the location, close to everything. Room was gorgeous.

Facilities & Location Good but expected, given the pricing. Our room was clean but being in an old building the noise of plumbing and hum of air conditioning was quite loud. Quite happy overall but will probably compare another hotel in similar price range on my next visit to NYC.

A very pleasant hotel, with friendly and well-organized service. The only drawback: the limited number of elevators (2) and consequent waiting for one of them to arrive, whilst the stairs are not a usable alternative.

Great location near Broadway theatres, 5th Avenue and Times Square. Room was tiny but had a very comfortable bed. Bathroom was beautifully decorated. One very unpleasant problem was that the toilet overflowed two nights in succession. Staff quickly cleaned up but I was never comfortable using it after that. Service was nothing special. Price was double that of similar places in other US cities but New York is generally more expensive than elsewhere. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

Only complaint was the Russian cocktail bar staff. She was disinterested, unhelpful, unfriendly and unwelcoming. We complained about her.

The hotel was very friendly, clean and welcoming. The room would have benefited from tea and coffee making facilites rather than having to use room service. The hotel was well situated in between 5th and 6th Avenues a good location.

Luxury appointments abound. Health club small and somewhat crowded. Being a 12 story hotel among skyscrapers, rooms do not have expansive views. Close to Times Square and 10 minute walk to theatre district. Nice, convenient, selection of relatively inexpensive ethnic restaurants with good food and very informal decor. Cheap sit-down breakfast place nearly adjacent. Great home base for enjoying the city.

We have stayed in many hotels in NYC. We paid for a deluxe room and supposedly got one. Howver the bed was small for two people (we are used to our California King at home) and the room was small and the heat could not be turned down nor could the blower be turned off (room 707). We were staying there for 7 nights. After 2 nights in this room we couldn't stand it any more and asked for different room. Only one avaibale was a room in one lower category ( we had already paid for 7 nights). I looked at the room and it was larger and had 2 nice double beds. It was a lot nicer room in a lessor category. the only difference we noticed was the lack of a mini-bar refrigerator. All the stuff normally in the mini-bar was on top of the dresser. We never use that overpriced stuff anyway. Considering the cost of the room was $315.00 ,including taxes, it certainly wasn't the best deal in the world. Stay at the Palace or the Michaelangelo for the same price. Bob-San Diego, CA
