I am very fond of this hotel, especially because of its location - only a few steps to Central Park, opposite to Carnegie Hall, 5th Avenue, Times Square, the Rockefeller Center and Grand Central Station and Macy's and Bloomingsdales.

To be honest I only spoke to one person the day I checked in, not very friendly. Ordered breakfast in my room but it never arrived. Personally I would not stay there again.

Dates of stay: March 30 - April 2, 2006 Quad occupancy for me, my wife, two children (ages 12 and 13). Problems with accommodations, etc.: (1) No hot water for showers March 31 and April 1. (2) Had to ask at desk for two additional sets of towels every day, even though 4 persons were registered in room. (3) No telephone service in room until evening of April 1. (4) When I brought up problems with hotel staff I was always referred to someone else (and on one occasion I was told It's not my problem). (5) After waiting in line to check out, I was told I would have to come back because I did not have one of the key cards with me.

Some signs of deterioration: In the room, paint peeling off the ceiling, up/down lights at elevators don't work, one elevator not working at all; also, loud elevator noise audible in the room. However: location, location, location!

For a first time visitor to New York the Park Central Hotel was the perfect place to stay, very well located in the heart of the city, staff was courteous, concierge was very helpful especially with theatre tickets. The room that we had was spacious and clean, beds were comfortable and the air conditioning was great, since it was 90 degrees and humid outside. I will definitely recommend this hotel and this club to everyone I meet and I would definitely stay here again. GREAT EXPERIENCE FOR MY FIRST TIME IN NEW YORK CITY!

1st impression: No customer service! The receptionists checking guests in didnt offer to greet guests, put on a smile, nor thank guests ever! I found out that the million dollar renovation was only for the banquet & lobby area, not the rooms so rooms are quite run down, they don't even provide a water boiler! I wouldnt rate Park Central as a 4 star hotel, definitely not deserving. I stayed with Ameritania on this same trip, its cheaper + breakfast, I'll go for Ameritania anytime.

Only one elevator worked, resulting in long waits. No towels were provided for one day. Check-in took a very long time and only a smoking room was available. Breakfasts were very expensive. as was the room, given that it was quite small.

I looked for a fridge in the room.At least a coffe maker (simple one) ...none of them was there ! Unsufficent TV channels.. But, best location ,price etc.
