We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights - the location is excellent as you are adjoined to Grand Central Terminal so making access across the city very easy. Times Square is only 4 blocks away about 10 minutes walk as with Macy's. 5th Avenue is only 2 blocks away and has all the shops you could want on it. I would recommend this hotel not only for its location but for its staff who were so helpful and friendly. Rooms are nice and spacious and very clean and comfortable.

I booked two non-smokingrooms. One of the rooms smelled like someone had smoked in it prior to us checking in. When informed the front desk, the employee merely said that it should be a non-smoking room and did nothing. Charging departing guests for storing luggage is not 5 star mentality. Bellmen were neither friendly nor helpful.

This hotel represents very poor value for money - I stayed in a 'Regency Club' room at $750 US a night . No drinks making facilities, no bathrobes, minibar, or stationery and the room was unserviced on one day. I complained and received $100 credit, but I definitely would not stay there again. The bar and foyer staff were surly and unhelpful, and most of the staff acted as if they were doing you a big favour by even talking to you.

I had never booked a hotel room via the internet. I was weery because the internet price was so much lower than the price for a room calling the hotel directly. The room was fabulous, I would certainly book a room via internet again.
