This was my first trip to New York City. I chose to stay in the Edison Hotel after a friend of mine recommended it to me. I was not disappointed. The hotel could not have been in a more perfect location. It was clean, comfortable and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I have recommended the hotel to family and friends. I plan to go back to New York in the future, only if I can get a reservation at the Edison Hotel.

I would recommend this hotel to any traveling to New York. It is in an excellent location just off Times Square. The staff in the hotel are very helpful with any request you may have. I have stayed there 2 years and have also recommended to people who have also gone back. This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.

The staff at reception were quite abrupt and not very friendly. In my room there was no hair dryer or hair conditioner. I was placed in a room behind the lifts which was quite noisy. For the price of the room per night I would have expected breakfast to be included. The only plus feature about the hotel was location.

I was traveling with children and the employees were very kind, accepting and helpful, they went above the call of duty. The service was excellent! It is an older hotel but well preserved with a lovely lobby. The convenience of a resturant and a pub in the hotel and the location made it a perfect choice. I loved the atmosphere! I will definately stay there again!

Fantastic location - 30 seconds from Times Square. Rooms are big. Hotel is in need of a serious freshen up though. Scruffy carpets, curtains and bed throws. The cleaners should be shot - bathrooms were disgusting with hairs and soap of previous guests left behind. Pay extra and stay somewhere nicer!

The hotel room was very clean, however there was a leak in the bathtub which was never fixed. the hotel people were not very helpful or very cordial with the guests. We did not feel very welcome.

Furnishings look past 'use-by' date. Very basic room facilities. Walls have scribbling on them.Carpets look very worn. All in all, room needs repaint and general update. Reception staff were rude to people around me checking in and were not helpful when asked any questions. Everything seemed too much trouble. The hotel is in a great location and if it wasn't for that I doubt it would have any patronage.

I have stayed at this hotel many times and as per usual Hotel front desk staff were cold and uncaring, however when asked for extra towels and a hair dryer housekeeping was prompt and friendly. We were given the wrong room at first and were told to go back to the lobby to have changes made, but I called from the room and the reluctant bellboy went for new room keys. Needless to say his tip reflected his attitude. The antiquated window air conditioner did more clanking than cooling. The hotel is in a great location and that makes its tired rooms more tolerable. Overall our stay was typical for this class of hotel.

Fantastic location, great price for the location. Hotel a bit dated now in need of a re vamp but will still use next time in New York.
