A great location, and not a badly furnished hotel in the lobby. However, the actual body of the hotel is small, with dingy narrow corridors and small, tired rooms. The staff were okay, a little bored, not too friendly, and make sure you do the long trek down to the elevator rather than head off up the stairs. Internet access in the lobby is free, if you can prize somebody else off playing Patience on the computer to use it. Our room was typical old New York hotel, faded, shabby, full of noisy pipes and rattling air con, fraying around the edges and in need of serious redecoration, though the bathroom was nice. No fridge, but a safe. However, the biggest problem might have been unfortunate -- we had a poor stay thanks to the noise of other guests all night, every night, seemingly holding parties in the corridors. Avoid if you want peace (or sleep), but fine for young clubbers. Three stars? Only at a pinch.

A well-run hotel in an excellent location. Rooms smallish but with excellent en-suite bathroom. Staff friendly and helpful. Complimentary breakfast was a welcome surprise.

Great little hotel. Our double room was very spacious for NY. Great bathroom with powefull shower. Amazing location jusst minutes from Central Park and a short walk to 5th Avenue/Times Square. Highly recommended!!

Very pleased with the Hotel, well situated just off Broadway, minutes walk from Times Square. Pleasant and helpful staff. Basic rooms but very clean and functional.

great value for money hotel in a great location, staff all very helpfull and most polite, the italian bar / restaurant in the basement is superb, great food great atmosphere. downside is breakfast is coffee and rolls only and some of the rooms are smallish but all very clean with nice bathrooms.

excellent position near central park, theatre district & metro stations. A small family-run hotel, with small but well furnished & spotlessly clean rooms. Staff really friendly & helpful.

This is an older funky guesthouse built above a famous Italian restaurant in the heart of the theater district. The better rooms are upstairs and not behind the main desk. All are clean and neat. The reception is extremely nice and helpful. I would recommend this hotel for any budget traveler. I liked it very much. Leslie

Very nice room in a great location just off 56th and Broadway - but the lack of storage facilities for bags was annoying, and one of the older desk staff was really ignorant and rude. Great value all round though.

Great location. The hotel is on 8th Avenue and 56th Street. It is very clean and tidy. It offers complementary doughnuts and coffee in the mornings. The tea was a bit iffy, but McDonald was right next door. The opentop tour buses are available from 8th Avenue and 49th Street so nice and close. The Italian restaurant downstairs is lovely. It is quite pricey, but as a resident of the hotel, you get 15% off food. All in all a really nice place to stay.
