The first room they gave us was a smoking room. It looked rarely used. The lock in the bathroom did not work. We asked for a non smoking room and was immediately given one the next day. The new room was clean and better with a working lock.

The hotel is in a great location and convenient to the Theatre district and the major tourist sites. The room was of very decent size with two full beds and room to spare. However, the hotel is showing signs of age (peeling wallpaper, cracked tiles) and the housekeeping could be more detailed (animal crackers under the nightstand.) The wait was long for the front desk but the service once we got there for check-in was great. Also, it was nice to see the security required to get into the elevators to the rooms.

The location was ideal and would recommend upgrading to an executive room as the views were wonderful. Continental Breakfast kept you going all day. Rooms were spacious and bed extremely comfortable. You can step onto the tour bus right outside that gives you a great flavour of New York. Times Square is a site to behold and right in the middle of theatre land. Only downside bar staff were not over efficient.

All the ads on all the websites we found advertised this hotel with breakfast included and that is why we chose it. However when we arrived, nobody in the hotel was aware of free breakfast and in fact breakfast in the restaurant was USD20.00 per person plus tax plus service charge which by any standards is excessive I would have thought. Also no hotel in New York seems to supply tea and coffee in the rooms which I was surprised at. This is commonplace in Ireland. But on the other hand, the hotel was clean, central and functional.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. The location was great, views of New York, the room and the service fantastic. I will be staying here again on my next visit.
