Stayed here 22/9/07 for two nights. Paid 95 Euro prpn B&B. As reported by others, this accommodation is located along a back street and accessed through an obscure entrance and then up several floors in a rickety lift, but not really a problem. We were met by an elderly ‘housekeeper’, who spoke only Italian, but was still able to convey a considerable amount of information to us. We met the owner, an artist, after breakfast the following morning; he speaks English fluently, and gave us a lot of helpful information about Naples - areas of the city, what to see, and where to eat. The accommodation is on one floor, with much charm throughout. We had a large room, there is also a huge communal lounge. Everywhere is full of antique furniture, books and paintings. Lighting in the lounge is dim, which gave something of a gloomy feel. You will probably have the feeling of being the only ones there in this large apartment. Our bathroom was ordinary and tatty, and did not fit in at all with the rest of the accommodation. Breakfast starts at 8.30; on the first morning nothing appeared before 8.45, and then the one member of staff started cooking which we could not stay for. For some, a leisurely breakfast in an attraction, but Naples is really a city for active sightseeing and early starts are best for Pompeii etc (see below), so an earlier and prompter breakfast would be desirable. The concept of the place, all the attractive furniture and the art contribute something of a uniqueness to this accommodation, but ultimately we were slightly disappointed with the state of the bathroom and the breakfast needs better organising. You need a few days to see Naples, and another day for Vesuvius and Herculaneum, and another full day for Pompeii. Early starts are useful for these out of city locations, all are easily accessible on the Circumvesuviana railway, but note that for the past two years Pompeii has often opened a few hours late due to ‘staff mee

This place is fabulous! It's a beautiful old property at the top of an old block in Naples. Art covers the walls, breakfast was superb and Dominic the owner was great. Can't recommend this hotel enough! i didn't see a map or photos on the website.

the B&B is located in the old part of town which is run down. Due to the holidays it was quiet so no problems were encountered but it coulod be difficult for a senior couple like us in normal times. Domenic our host was very enthusiastic to tell us about Naples and things to do and also potential problems but many of the restuarants he recommended were closed because of summer holidays. The entry to the hotel is a little scary and dark and the lift ancient, but the B&B is a wonder, full of paintings and sculptures by Domenics father and grandfather. Room was quiet and facilities good. Only problem was bed springs sqeaked very time we turned over.

Don't be put off by the street entrance. This shabby part of town is rising from its ashes, and the bed and breakfast upstairs is a wonderful haven. It is worth the visit just to meet the owner and appreciate his art and antique collection.

Has some difficulty locating Via Luigi Settembrini (off Via Duomo) even some locals did not know where it was. As mentioned, the street was dreadful, due to renovation work but the inside lived up to the description. In particular the inner courtyard, seen from the kitchen/dining room balcony, was a relevation - it was nice to hear young children singing in the school on the floor below. I asked for an early breakfast(8 am rather than the usual 8.30 am( and all I got was coffee and rusks! Otherwise quite satisfactory. PS If anyone is interested in a goog walk from Via Foria up to Capodimonte - I tried it - feel free to contact me .

A perfect place to be in Napoli. Beautiful house. The owners are italian artists in the best sense of the word. They are absolutely in love with their culture and their history and know a lot about it. At the same time they have a deep respect for nature. We hope (for our sake) that this place will be kept secret as long as possible. It's a gem. It's very special.
