Extremely helpful staff, especially the African-Italian gentleman who delivered breakfast. The toilet had not been fully cleaned upon our arrival, but was corrected after we mentioned the problem. Note that the frescoed ceiling rooms are not available in all rooms. Our room did not have a frescoed ceiling, but was spacious. Of particular use was the towel warmer which we used to dry our clothes overnight that we washed. The departing gift of cheese was a nice touch. Skip the Restorante Bellini near the Hotel and stick with the cheap and delicious pizza. Get your seafood elsewhere.

The hotel is on a busy street, but set back from the road and the rooms all seem quiet at night. Not a lot in the immediate area, but a 1 minute walk got a coffee and 5 minutes to the subway. A safe area, no problems.

Our cab driver had to circle several times before we were able to locate hotel. But then when we finally got there the desk clerk couldn't have been more helpful----suggesting a nearby restaurant that we enjoyed. The room was imaginatively decorated, and very roomy. The building was quite beautiful. Breakfast was delicious, and we were given really good pastries as a going away gift. We would definitely stay at the Belle Arti again. The location was a little funky, but in a student area that was probably safe enough, and actually quite interesting.

A striking, artistic design in a simple and modern city centre hotel. The perfekt well-located hotel for a city visit. We stayed one day and night before flying out of Naples, but were happily surprised at value we found at the hotel. The staff were accomodating and friendly. It felt safe and was in easy walking distance to shops, restaurants and assorted sites.

I loved my stay at the Belle Arti Resort. The staff were friendly, the room was spacious and the frescos on the ceiling were a nice touch. I found the room rate very reasonable and the entire property was pristine clean (bar the underneath of the stairs, which you see as you enter the building - the plaster had fallen off - it was a bit unsightly). However, that was the only negative. On leaving, the lady on Reception booked a taxi for us and gave us a leaving gift - some local pastries - gift wrapped. I was a lovely touch. I'd definitely return to the Belle Arti Resort.

Belle Arti Resort provided comfortable surroundings away from the real chaos of Naples. The staff were efficient, friendly and helpful with restaurant suggestions and directions to various places of interest. We spent two nights at Belle Arti.

We stayed 4 nights at the hotel including the night before we returned home. The staff was very helpful: Metro directions, restaurant recommendations, getting taxis (including vouchers so the driver couldn't inflate the fare). One staff person rose at 4:30am to prepare us breakfast before we left for our 6:50am flight. Breakfast is served in your room and is very good. Naples is a busy, noisy and lively city; probably too much for a family with young children. Crossing the street can be hazardous with all the morotcycles. The hotel rooms and bathrooms were spacious, modern and very clean. We wouldn't recommend this hotel for a very mature couple; you must carry your suitcases up a full staircase to get to reception. The hotel entrance is strange because you buzz the hotel from the street and wait for someone to let you into the courtyard. The hotel and its rooms face an interior courtyard; it's very quiet and in a safe area. The Naples Archeological Museum is one block away; we'd recommend it. Naples is great for shopping: low prices for clothing and jewelry, the best we found in Italy. Our teenagers loved that part. Food prices are lower too. We never encountered theft or crime but would caution visitors to keep their possessions in hand, backpacks in front (or left in the hotel) and purses under their arm. Shopkeepers and restaurants were always willing to explain the bill. Never found an error or overcharge. The taxi drivers will charge you a higher price if you let them get away with it. It's easy to get to the Port in Naples for a ferry or hydrofoil ride to Capri (under 1 hour by hydrofoil). Remember to get a ticket for each suitcase you bring on board (1 Euro per bag, June 2006). Stay in or near the town of Anacapri rather the town of Capri (which is more expensive and crowded with tourists). We'd recommend a tour/visit to Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast, if time allows. Don't rent a car in Naples; the traffic is bad and the drivers are a bit crazy.

Top marks on all points. A perfect place to stay in Naples. Very friendly staff. We stayed in the Gold room - very romantic. Belle Arti Resort is in the heart of the city and minutes away from great restaurants - too many to mention. Very quiet location and safe too. One of our favourite places we've stayed (ever). More intimate than a hotel. I was even given a bottle of wine on my birthday!! We have already recommended this place to our friends who are going to Naples later this year. A message to Laura (who was very helpful with our usual tourist questions) thank you again for your hospitality. May see you again soon...
