For a busy, tourist city centre hotel, once inside Hotel Artiste the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. The external appearance, and stair case of the palazzo was a little seedy, but once on the 1st floor, and inside the hotel itself it was clean & well maintained ... and the smell of the breakfast pastries was delicious. Good recommendation from reception staff regarding restaurants too. Our young children were welcome, and we were given adjacent rooms. We were even given the option of changing our booking to a cheaper, 4 person room if we wanted.

The hotel has very friendly staff and is located in a great spot for seeing the historic centre of Naples, also handy for public transport from Piazza Cavour. The area feels safe, and Naples is a very stimulating city. The staff will direct you to a couple of good, cheap restaurants. Breakfast was pretty ordinary, but the rooms are clean, and surprisingly quiet, if you ask for a room on the courtyard. Free internet is a great bonus. Overall, very good value for money. The hotel is not easy to see from the street. It's at no. 61,Via Duomo, behind a large courtyard door. If the door is shut, ring the bell for the hotel and they'll buzz you in. Then go through the courtyard to the lift, 5c will take you to the hotel reception on the first floor.

The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful, supplying us with an excellent map upon arrival. The room was large, the largest during our travels throughout Italy. The breakfast that is included in the price is awesome.... and the coffee was excellent! Probably the best coffee I had while in Italy. And again, the staff was great.

the area in naples was very good (near to the museum and the dome)!!! the building was nice with a historical athmosphere. unfortunately the room next to the lobby was very noisy, because of the tv and the talking of the stuff and the restaurants which the stuff recommended to us on a sunday were nearly all close.

The location for great for this hotel and the rooms were very Italian, old fashioned and spacious! The problem was we had no shower, no hot water for 2 days, Naples is very humid and busy, so we were not happy with this. The staff were useless sorting out the problem and didnt give us a decent discount for our troubles. The rooms at the front of Hotel are very noisey, so always ask for one at the back of the Hotel. You will also need 5c to use the lift?? I will not stay here again as I would rather have clean hair walking through the streets of Napoli!! Sorry!

Nice place overall, if a bit hard to find. Good location (although it is in Naples). If you have a reason to be in Naples I'd recommend this hotel.

the hotel is in the centre of Napoli, walking distance to many interesting sites. The garage is close and it is 15€ for the guests of the hotel per full day. The water pressure is changing and sometimes very low. Takes time in the morning for hot water to appear. Not a three star hotel for in my opinion (see e.g. three star hotels in Capri!). The breakfast is very basic, good, but basic and without any variability. For the price of the room, more should have been offered. Very friendly and helping personnel, but sometimes unreliable (it is very difficult for the Napoletani to say "I don't know where that is...").

Look out for the flags on the first floor to find the hotel, it's through the big door into a courtyard, use the bell if the door is closed. Very friendly, very of Naples, I would go back to this hotel again.
