Location, location location. Was there for Oktoberfest and we were quite close to the Wiesn as well as the old part of Munich. The rooms were small but clean.

Clean as a whistle; staff is fluent in English and helpful; Früstück is excellent; location is central to most walking points in Munich; am booked in for another week-long stay in mid-October 2007!

Great location, close to everything, safe and clean, rooms are tiny, outdated,as in many European cities, breakfast is wonderful. For the money it is definitely worth it.

Excellent location. very easy to get to from the airport(direct train to karlsplatz and 5 min walk from there) and easy to get to all the major places either walking or excellent public transport system. multi lingual staff very helpful. rooms are on the small side but very clean and comfortable. the buffet breakfast was very substantial.

the room was a little tight with the layout, and the shower, although an enclosed stall, flooded the bathroom floor when used. Overall a good find.

People were really very very helpful with everything, not only regarding the hotel but also regarding my stay in Munich. Staff was very nice, I felt very comfortable with them. The hotel was very good. I put a 9 in quality of service just for the heating: first night it was not very hot, it was just warm, and it turned off in the middle of the night, the room was very cold, but I told them next morning and then it worked ok. Anyway, I think poor heating is a problem in all Germany...Hotel surroundings were excelent: just 1 1/2 block from a commercial and lively street where you can find nice places to eat at night.

I love this charming hotel. I have stayed there frequently. It's just off a noisy main boulevard on a quiet neighborhood side street. It's a short walk to Karlplatz and Sendlingtor. Convenient to everything. It's family owned and operated, and the staff couldn't be nicer. I always try to stay there in Munich.

we were actually send to the hotel tannenbaum, which is next door, and is the herzog's other property it was great! clean, new, attractive, and good breakfast i would request it by name next time! thanks

would a do not disturb sign be too much to ask? Air conditioning would be nice too. But I guess you get what you pay for and location is all you're paying for here.

Rooms very small. Booked a double room but provided with a single room wiht two single beds crammed in. No facilities in the hotel. More that a bed and breakfast establishment than a hotel. Photos of exterior very deceiving. Photoe actually of an area 200 meters away from hotel. Would not recommend.
