I landed here during fashion week as my overappreciated colleagues mistook one UNA for another. The room was tiny, worn, and noisy (you've got a pub and disco next door). Dining room/breakfast was forgettable.Read more Unless you need proximity to central station or nightclubs, don't go here. Go straight to UNA Cusani: it'll be like upgrading from one star to five stars for the same money and a better location.
TabletHotels.com recommends this hotel - but I don't think they've been there lately.
First off : they do not have internet (don't believe what the web site reports)- wireless or otherwise - though, ifRead more you have an ancient computer with a model connection, I was told you can dial up through the phone line!!!!! Yikes.
Upon arriving in Milan, we learned our 3 pieces of luggage were lost by Alitalia. We informed the hotel reception of this and checked with both the day and night staff on the matter. They told us that our luggage never arrived. Upon returning to the airport 5 days later, we learned from Alitalia that delivery was attempted 3 times and they were given 3 different responses from the hotel staff : 1. We weren't at that Una Hotel, 2. We had already checked out, 3. There was no guest by that name. Nice. $600 later, we had purchased clothes and Alitalia would not reimburse because of the 3 failed attempts. Just NOT a polished hotel staff.
And Noisy!!!! The doors open and slam loudly, the hallway is designed from linoleum so rollerbags manage quite a ruckus! Just poorly insulated.
The good: humungous rooms. But try to find time to enjoy it when you are running around looking for a wireless connection (not what Milan is known for) and replacement clothing.
I do not recommend.
Great, clean, nice atmosphere. Very modern decoration, new furniture, nice personnel. Well positioned, not right in the touristic center but in a neighborhood frequented by young milanese people, with nice coffee and restaurants nearby. Metro at about 100 meters away, but also nice to go walking down Corso Garibaldi till the center. For sure I would come back there.
We just returned from staying at the Una Hotel Tocq for three nights during the easter holiday. This was our second time at the hotel and this time my overall impression was a bit negative. Fortunately,Read more we got a great price at only 112 dollars a night but if you were paying the average price of over 200 I would not stay here. Our room was too hot and when we asked how to turn on the air conditioning we were told that since it is between seasons they only have heat right now. Although the evening temperatures outside were pleasant, our room faced the street with the Tocqueville 13 club which was extremely noisy until 5 a.m. The second night (Sunday) was the same thing and when we complained again the management said it won't be as loud since it's Monday night and that's why they have double windows. Sounds great if the AC works but if you need to open the windows it's a catch 22. On the positive side, they allow small dogs at no extra fee and are close to lots of cafes and clubs. Their breakfast is quite good with sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, fresh melon, etc.
We just returned from Milano (great city). We booked the Una Tocq Hotel at the hotel's website after reading reviews from several website including trip advisor.
When we stay in a city in hotel, we alwaysRead more look for a stylish and at least 4 star hotel. We stayed in several Hotels in asia and europe.
The Hotel is near the Corso Como at on top of a subway station not far fro the centre of Milano (about 15 min with subway).
When we arrived at the Hotel we stepped into the bar/restaurant by mistake which looked very nice though. After we entered the lobby we checked in at the counter and the staff was very unpolite but ok, maybe we just met the wrong person.
We booked the superior room with kingsize bed.
When we entered the room, I thought some mistake was made because it sure di d not look superior. There was indeed a kingsize bed, but that filled up the room also.
I checked at the lobby but the still unfriendly staff confirmed this was the superior room. Our booking included breakfast which was very simple and the products weren't exaclty fresh and , although the staff in the restaurant was nice, the always forgot to provideservice (no coffee was offered, and hey, we were in italy).
The room was clean though but all and all we found this hotel less then average and far to expensive for the service and room offered.
Brand new design hotel, but weak service.
Comfortable compact room. Dark bedroom.
Far from city center, but close to underground station.
Great breakfast, actually, the best we've seen in Italy (internationalRead more standard).
If I had to be back to Milan to sightseeing, I'd try to stay near Duomo, or Galeria di Brera, or the fashion district.
Maybe one of the best place to shop in Corso Como. Hotel with a nice design.
The UNA Tocq is an excellent hotel. The rooms are very nice, the bathroom was fine and the hotel is in a very quiet area of Milan.
The breakfast was very good and had a nice choice of items. The staff were extremely cordial and helpful. The hotel is also very close to the Corso Como where there is a wide range of restaurants. I found an excellent Mexican restaurant on the Corso Como which is definately worth trying. The only thing did find was the Wi-Fi access in the hotel does not appear to be able to cover all the rooms in the hotel. The coverage which I had in my room barely gave me access when I had my computer right next to the front door to the room.
It was a fine hotel, not right in City Center, but that was the price to pay to stay under 100 € per night. However, the Duomo can be reached in 20 min by foot, through nice avenues (Como and GaribaldiRead more Corso) with a lot of shops. The surroundings are ugly in the north (railway station), but quite nice if you go south (Como Corso, where you can find easily good restaurants, pizzeria type, not too expensive). The room was OK, quite standard, but comfortable (except heating that was not very efficient). Staff at desk was friendly and effective (i.e. we got rapidly an individual heater and a blanket after our request).
Very Friendly staff.
Extremely large room for Europe. Very clean and sheets were pressed and changed daily. All marble large clean bathroom, with good shower.
Continental buffet breakfast was very substantial.
LocationRead more was great for metro. Took 40 minutes to walk down to the Duomo. Good restaurants on Corso Como, literally just around the corner. Recommend the Rocking Horse for pizza and Italian food, full of locals and friendly staff.
Lots of night clubs in area.
Would stay there again.
Note wireless internet connection very expensive.
