This is the first time since I started using Venere.com that I have been so disappointed with a selected hotel. The double room was the smallest that I have ever found in a hotel quoted in Venere, furnishedRead more with old, shabby furniture, with an old and spotted carpet. The bathroom was very small with a tub (which is old-fashion in Italy). I complained with reception, saying that I chose this hotel based on the features and comments that I saw on the Venere web site, which claimed for spacious and well-furnished rooms with high quality standards. I was told by reception that when I book a room at Venere, I should CALL the hotel to confirm what type of room would be provided. There appears to be two levels of rooms at this hotel. This is really amazing!! So what should be the role of the Venere web site? This hotel is rated as a 4-star hotel but honestly, it does not even warrant a 3-star rating. The only positive comment is with the breakfast. The staff offered very little helpHide

The hotel is very nice and clean. May be it's been renovated lately. I booked 5 double rooms, because we were 11 people. By fax I asked the hotel reservation desk for an extra bed in one of the rooms andRead more there was no problem. All my friends liked there stay at Hotel Una Mediterraneo. We travelled by cars and there was a public covered parking near by. When I come back to Milan I will stay at the same hotel again!Hide

The Hotel was very convenient for our stay, a 10 Euro taxi ride from the Central Station but beware of taxi drivers. Our party required 2 taxis and the second one was charged 23 Euros for the same trip.Read more But the comments should be about the hotel, the lady who spent most of the time on reception during our stay ( I apologise for not remembering her name) was very polite and extremely helpful at all times. The night porter on the morning of our departure was very reluctant to us having a coffee prior to our departure (our departure time was 0700 hrs) but luckily Omar, who had looked after us during our stay was on the early shift and opened up the breakfast area for us. Very much appreciated. Apart from that one incident the visit was very much enjoyable and we would certainly stay there again.Hide

Good for Bocconi visit crosenfe, 6/25/08

A visit to Bocconi University brought me to the Una Mediterraneo. It was a nice hotel, but I would never choose it for the neighborhood. There are restaurants nearby, but the general neighborhood leavesRead more a few somethings to be desired.

It certainly caters to the business crowd, although its internet was not functioning when we were there (it did if you brought your own computer). It's not the place for an Italian experience: we were always greeted in English.

The rooms were small, but clean and quite comfortable. The bathroom was also quite small, but beautifully appointed. The front desk clerks were helpful in making dinner reservations and calling cabs, as well as arranging wake-up calls.

Breakfast was elaborate; they had everything from bacon & eggs to breakfast meats and cheeses, to pastries, toast, cereals, and, of course, cafe as you like it.

Perhaps its room rate is aligned with those in Milan, but it almost seemed unnecessarily high.

Very unpleasant, definitively not a 4-star (hardly 2) AAB7, 6/25/08

Not a pleasant experience. Hotel is significantly overpriced, and service is very bad.

Arrived on Sat. Asked for an iron. Reception: "no iron". Were we supposed to bring iron with us to a 4-star hotel?

BreakfastRead more is bad. Basic cheese, uninspiring ham. No juice - juice drinks taste like chemicals. On top of that, very small breakfast hall, difficult to find spare places (a couple, we had to sit at diferent tables!).

Staff never smiles. Nor speaks English.

Everything is overpriced. Tea in the evening? - 4 euros. An hour of Internet? - 10 euros. This services are for free in all hotels that care about customers.

Room was horrible for a 4-star. It was not much bigger than a bed. Aic conditioning is loud. TV has a single English language channel. Furniture is old and ugly.

Overall, as said before, we have a very unplesant stay, and will try to avoid Una hotels in the future.

A good 2 star hotel (maybe a generous 3 star) Bank-r, 3/12/08

A lot of hotels in Italy are overrated, and this is one of them.
Staff were nice, and breakfast buffett, though not incredible, was fine.

The room was unbelievably small and worn out. You barely had roomRead more to walk from the side of the queen bed to the wall, on both sides. We got a corner room close to the fire exit that I believe is a little smaller than most rooms. At least, it had nothing to do with the pictures you can find in internet. We complained, but weren't allowed to change.

Only one lift was working during our weekend stay, and we had to walk up and down several times. The bathroom was really tiny, and you couldn't even close the shower door, flodding everything every time you showered. The bed was ok, but the blanquet looked old and so worn out it seemed dirty.

Surprisingly, they had complimentary slippers in the room (only one pair though, thank god my wife brought hers along). Location is not great, about 5 minutes from the metro that will take you to the center in a couple of stops. About ten minutes by taxi. We only paid 86 eur per night on the hotel website, and you only get what you pay for. We used it just to sleep while visiting the city (shopping ), and it served its purpose, though I wouldn't pay more than that. It is defenetly not more than a very good 2 star hotel, maybe a generous
3 star. Don't go there if you plan to stay in the hotel more than necessary, if you need to get back to the hotel more than once per day or if you have 3-4 star expectations by international standards.
