Nice hotel although difficult to find due to scaffolding covering the front of the Hotel. Receptionist was very welcoming and helpful. Was quite a walk to the Cathedral, but managable. Generally a good place to stay due to its location near the train station. This was the most expensive hotel we stayed in during our 9 day tour of italy, although pleasant thought it was over priced.

The hotel is located near the station. Quality of service and rooms - good. The largest trouble - once at night from 2-00 till 4-00 in the next building passed rehearsal of a rock group. The audibility was magnificent, to sleep it was impossible.

We stayed at Hotel MArconi for 8 nights from 19-27 Nov 2005. Upon arrival one of the first things we noticed was the extensive building work, which wasn't mentioned on either Venere or Hotel Marconi's website. Basically, there was no wall at the rear of the hotel. On our floor the huge gaping hole where the wall should have been was covered with flimsy plastic sheeting. Hmmm. Consequently, our room was cold, the water was a dirty brown, and on the last day there was no hot water at all. As a result we had to go nearly 48 hours without usable hot water - no bath, no shower, no wash. In short, unacceptable. I flagged up my concerns to the hotel reception and was basically given an unsymapathetic response. On the morning we checked out I asked to see the manager. He wasn't there. I paid on my credit card but told the receptionist that I really wasn't happy about paying the full price because we'd been without usable hot water for 48 hours. Nothing he could do, or so he claimed. I paid, in goood faith, but said I'd be speaking to the manager the following day and expected a small refund for the inconvenience. Next day, back in the UK, I called the manager - Mr Ricardo Tajani - to complain about the water situation (not to metion the disruptive building work). Mr Tajani, however, did not want to listen. He quickly rejected my claim that the lack of hot water was unacceptable - what did we expect for the price? I countered that there was no mention of building work on the hotel website, or on any of the others that his hotel used. If there had of been, we would have stayed elsewhere. Mr Tajani said there was nothing he could do, and reasured me that the water was now fixed. I said this was no use to me - when I was a guest at his hotel, there was no usable hot water for 48 hours, and the least he could do was recompense me for this. No chance, said Mr Tajani, who invited me to put this in writing, which I did. I also sent copies to the Italian State

the hotel is not far from the center. The staff wasn't really gentle to explain something. The room was ok and big enough. The bathroom was really big, but there was only BROWN water to get!!!!Because of that and the work, which they do at the moment at the hotel, I would not go there again. Braekfast was really good.
