We have stayed here a number of times and really love this hotel. Our latest visit was two weeks in early December 2007. The hotel is thoroughly charming and very relaxing (home away from home). The rooms are fairly basic, but are a really good size and very comfortable. The staff are excellent, the restaurant is surprisingly good and the onsite parking (limited) was extremely useful. The hotel is well located on lovely StKilda road (outside the city CBD - halfway between the city and StKilda). Depending on the time of day it is 5 - 10 minutes by car/tram into the city.

Very pleasent hotel. Service was good and the meals were great. Location was very convenient as it is close to the city and St Kilda. Room was a little small but very clean.

The online description did not adequalty match the size of the room. Tourist information was inadequate. We stayed 2 nights and not once was the Mini Bar filled.

The bedrooms are very small and the outlook at the back is appalling. We had an excellent meal in the dining room.

Reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed a nice dinner in the Restaurant, waitress was very helpful. The brand new bathroom was beautifully fitted out but the facilities were in very strange places which made it very awkward for two people to use at the same time.

When we checked in they had lost our booking, this took abot 20 mins to sort out. We indicated we did not have a car and asked where the nearest liqour shop was, we are directed just around the corner, a 20 min walk failed to find anything but a large hospital. When we checked out they tried to charge us for the booking which was prepaid. No other drama however well located right at tram stop and nice room.

Charming, refurbished 19th Century building in garden setting. Good, reasonably priced restaurant, attentive staff. Good location for both business or tourist travellers - if needed, public transport & taxis are on the doorstep. Only drawback - no porter and undercover parking is a short walk around the corner. would certainly stay there again.

Great boutique hotel in a lovely setting - well presented and very clean. We had a standard room which comfortable. The bathroom was a good size and well maintained. We would definitely stay here again.

The location was quiet and peaceful and being a small boutique hotel it remains extremely private. Inclusion of the Continental breakfast was a big plus. Its proximity to the city was very convenient and only a short tram trip which has a continual service.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Charsfield Boutique Hotel, and would certainly suggest it to friends who are visiting Melbourne. The location was ideal, and the fact that it was not a large very large hotel was a plus. I am so glad that I chose it from the internet. Jacquelynne Shore
