The studio was quite allright, but the beds were in a closet (!) The room was not cleaned during the week, and the towels were not changed. It was january and rather cold in the building, but the heating system was ok. It takes about twenty minutes by bus to Malaga sentrum. The bus connection is great, there is always a bus, at least every fifth minute. The mainstreet in El Palo is an old fashioned area, and not in a nice way. But the apartment is two minutes away from the main street, in a better area. At the seaside in El Palo there are lots of nice fishrestaurants, but watch up for the prices, they differ a lot from place to place. The supermarkets in teh area as a great selection of everytthin, actually all area of El Palo have lots of shops an small butchers, fruit and bread shops.

Booking this apartment was definintely a big mistake. There was never at any time, anyone on the reception desk. To gain entry to the apartment when we arrived, we needed to ring apartment no 5. A very nervous young man answered the door. He could speak no English, but just as well I can scrape by in Spanish. He told us to wait (in Spanish) closed the door and left us in the corridor in the dark for 10 minutes. Eventually he opened the door gave us the keys to the apartment and closed the door of his apartment and left us with absolutely no explanations at all! The apartment was very basic with no heating, it was February and a bit chilly. However, it was very cheap. This area of Malaga is pretty naff, nothing at all to do except eat in the cheap Tapas bars and drink. The beach is OK but everything was closed. Just as well we only stayed 3 nights and then moved into the City Centre. My advice: DON'T BOTHER with the Apartamentos Cenachero, pay a bit more money, and go elsewhere.

The only thing which let down the apartment in our opinion was no service at reception. There was no-one available to hand during any time, day or night and upon leaving at the end of our stay we had to just leave the keys on the desk as no-one was there. Please be aware that people booking a double room would be dissapointed. This is definitely a twin with pull down beds in wardrobes, which cannot be pulled together at all.

This is an Apartement-House, don't expect a hotel with a reception desk that's occupied the whole time. The room is NOT cleaned while your away during the day(as in hotels) Call in Advance to announce when you arrive, so you get your keys without waiting. The Apartment is 200m from a Bus Stop (Nr. 11) which takes you in 25min to center of Malaga.

Very happy with these apartments but they are probably best sutied to fairly independent travellers with some Spanish, as the resident caretaker speaks only Spanish.

Could not get in on arrival; had to ask for a front door key that worked. Good price for good accommodation, we had a fabulous week in Malaga, and intend to return.

These apartments were a short bus ride from the centre of malaga with plenty small tapas bars near by. They had a large sun terrace and a beach which was massive and we had all to to ourselves nearby. If going the el tintero restaurant on the front is a fabulous sea food restaurant along the end of the back at the far end.

El cenachero apts. are not an hotel in the true sense of the word. Whilst being servicable as self catering apts. even then the facilites are at best basic.There is absolutely no reception service worth talking about, in the 9 days that we stayed there no one checked to see if everything was ok, towells,sheets were never changed and there was 1 no toilet roll provided for the duration of our visit. Being around Christmas I would have thought that there would have been some attempt to ensure that the apt. would have been kept at a suitable temperature this was not the case. On the positive side it was very close to the direct bus route into the city which was very frequent and punctual. There was also a good variety of bars,cafeteria and restaurants close by not to mention shops and supermarkets. This could be a very comfortable and convenient base with a bit of thought.There was no kettle,no spoons to eat a boiled egg and no tea towels to clean anything up.

We enjoyed our stay at El Cenachero Apartments and found the accomodation basic but clean although we had to ask for clean towels and more toilet paper.The staff who were seldom seen seemed to be of eastern european origin and did not speak much english or spanish.It was also a bit noisy early morning (5.00am) with a lot of door banging etc.

we enjoyed our stay in these apartments. extremely easy to get to malaga from here ,just a 10 minute bus ride straight into the centre, we intend to go back again as we both liked El Palo as it was probably the most Spanish resort we have been to recently. the only downside is that the apartments are located at the top of a steep hill and could be a problem for some people

The apartments were like new, could not falult them, everything you needed was there including heating/air conditioning, cooker,microwave the lot, we had a great four nights there would stay there again.

During my stay at El Cenachero Apartments Malaga the staff never changed the sheets and blankets or took the rabbish out or replace the toilet paper, though the studio was clean at my arrival. The staff wasn't very helpful and friendly.

The US studio room arrangement in my opinion could make this abode have an edge over bigger hotels devoid of this facility. Items such as telephone should be provided (at cost to the occupant) to enable communication as a lot of tourists might not speak Spanish. Besides, there would be no point going out to look for call centres. Sundry items such as pressing iron, city map, tourist attraction centres etc should be provided to enable tourists have the desired comfort.
