Hotel Tryp Atocha opened in 2002 in a small palace-type building erected in 1913. The hotel is downtown, in Madrid's 'Art Triangle' district which encompasses the city's major museums such as the El Prado, the Thyssen and the Reina Sofia. Accommodations at the Tryp Atocha are ultra-modern. Six on-site meeting rooms are available in addition to a bar where you can relax after a day out exploring the Spanish capital.
The hotel offers 150 soundproof guestrooms with wood flooring and a host of amenities including individually-controlled air conditioning, a direct line phone, modem hook-up, minibar, satellite television and safe. Wireless Internet access is available in common areas. There is an on-site restaurant as well as a bar lounge open from 12:00 to 11 p.m. Other lounges for cocktail events, business meals and banquets are also available.
The Hotel Tryp Atocha is five minutes from the Atocha-Ave train terminal, Plaza Mayor, and Madrid's major museums like the El Prado, Thyssen and Reina Sofia. Five minutes in another direction brings you to the tapas bars and restaurants of Plaza Santa Ana.
