People live in the street outside and will beg as you approach the hotel. They are drunk etc. One of them was seen to enter the hotel and emerge after a few minutes, using the toilet ? which is next to the lift to all floors. Very bad security. Apparently the police are reluctant to move them on. Other than that a very fine hotel, good rooms with very quiet double glazing. Not sure if the Air Con was working properly. Despite all that we really liked the hotel.

Lunch and dinner menu offer very little choice. Difficult to find staff to serve you. No access to internet if do not have own laptop. Mini-bar selection very poor and not refilled. When asked to call a taxi when I was leaving Iwas told with a jerk of the head to go to street around the corner. No offer to help with bags. Quite a long walk. Will not go back.

That's the perfect location to visit Madrid. By feet you can any wonderful place in the historical Madrid. The Hotel is great! The rooms are nice. The very old elevator and the stairs are beautiful!!

Nice hotel and very good location. However, the first room that we were given smelled like smoking area in the airport. Additionally, the room window opened into the inner courtyard, which is used for parties (especially on Friday and Saturday nights). We refused to take the room, and after a little arguments with the receptionist (they offered to spray some smoke nutralizing spray in the room), they gave us another room, which was two times bigger, had balcony, and cigarette odor free. Receptionists were helpful, but not eager to help. I would stay in this hotel again, if I am guaranteed the same room that we stayed this time.

On arriving at the hotel I found I did not have my hotel voucher which was a bit embarrasing: either you never sent it to me or I accidentally deleted it! Any way the hotel were very helpful and said they would sort it out and not to worry, which I then did not. They let me leave the hotel without further ado when our time came to depart. I was very pleased with the hotel both in the accommodation and the breakfast food, and its convenience to central Madrid and am willing to recommend it to any future travellers

I would definitely recommend this hotel. We booked based on other reviews and found them accurate. Staff were helpful, rooms were larger than some other hotels offer and bathrooms clean and modern. Service good and prompt. Breakfast buffet excellent. And most importantly, the location was quiet (important for Spanish hotels if you want to sleep at all) even though the location was very central. Close to metros, sights, shopping etc. Two minutes walk to Puerto del Sol and 10 minutes to Prado and other museums.

Ideal quiet location for exploring central Madrid. Hotel room of a very high standard. The choice at breakfast was excellent in the sixth floor restaurant. Very friendly Peruvian barman who speaks very good English.

The best hotel I have stayed at using Venere so far... and I have used many. Perfect rooms, so much space. Great bathrooms, lovely hotel, fantastic position. 10/10. Huge beds, really enjoyed staying here

Our group of three married couples from California checked in for three days prior to an Insight tour of Spain and Portugal. Loved the location. Right in the midst of old town Madrid. Hotel rooms were a bit smaller than they appeared in the pictures, but were very nice, none the less.

We were really looking forward to our stay in Mardid at the Intur Palacio, and we were not disappointed - excellent hotel in an excellent location. Suited us perfectly because it was in quiet surroundings, yet 5 min walk from Gran Via, 10 min to Sol, 15 min to Santa Ana. Excellent staff and highly recommended.
