Very helpful and friendly staff. The one citicism was that we could not switch the central heating radiator off at night.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone , no air conditioning in the rooms, no hot water until the evening , and bloody noisy at night with kids running up and down the the corridors being a nuisance. However the reception staff and room maids were very helpful and polite. The breakfast waiter was also helpful, and very tolerant of large groups of children in the restaurant.

Great location for day time activities but it is very noisy at night! Bring ear plugs if you get a street facing room. Also they advertise that they have A/C... not the case. We had a small VERY noise ceiling fan, but it did help drown out the street noise. The lift only goes to the 1st and 4th floors. We booked a quad which consisted of a room normally fitted with 2 single beds but they managed to squeeze in 2 roll aways so there was little to no extra space what so ever. The room safe cost 1E per usage. There are so many places to stay in the area that I would look somewhere else. Somewhere quieter and with AC (especially if you go in July).

A very good hotel in the centre of madrid with only 100m to the opera and around 300m to the royal palace. strongly recommend it!!

Excellent location in the heart of Madrid. Loads of nightclubs and bars in near vicinity. Added to the atmosphere of the city. Church bells did ring very early - but that would affect the entire area. Staff very efficient and friendly. Excellent breakfast and breakfast area. Overall great value for money.

I would have to say that this hotel was mediocre. It was in a great location IF you like to party all night long and don't mind others in the hostels next door partying all night long as well. If you want a good night's rest, it's probably not the best place. Also, relative to other attractions in Madrid, it was situated nicely. The service was friendly, but not overly helpful. The breakfast that's included is very charming--for instance, we stayed in a hotel that was much more expensive in the same city that made us pay a lot more money for a comparable breakfast. The rooms are a bit drafty, but they will give you extra blankets if you ask.

This hotel is not good for people with walkign difficulties as the lift goes to floor 4 and the breakfast dining room is on floor 6. There are also steps up from the street to the reception and from the reception to the lift. It is very central in Madrid and the reception staff are very helpful and pleasant. The breakfast is a basic continental breakfast but at the price this is correct. Ask for a room off the main road if you cannot sleep with noise from the street, especially at the weekend.

I would like to claim about the breakfeast and the room. Acttually, the breakfeast is very weak, in order to require an real improvement and the room is really narrow.

The hotel is well situated, and although the room was small it was adequate. It does not, however, as advertised have a bar or restaurant. And the elevator does not serve all floors or the breakfast room.

A friend and I shared a twin room at Francisco I. When we arrived, they had no record of our reservation but were able to accommodate us anyway after we waited for an hour or so. The breakfast was limited and there was sometimes a wait for coffee. The gentleman serving there was not particularly friendly - in fact he was rather gruff. The hotel location was very good in terms of convenience.

Room was exceedingly small and bathroom must have been the smallest in Christendom! When we returned from an evening out at about 2200 hours one evening and asked for a drink at the bar, we were informed that it was closed - that is despite many people milling about in the bar/lounge. Although a good location, because it was so hot and no air conditioning, we had to open the window and the noise all night long was bad.
