For me the facilities failed to reach very good because some equipment in the gym area didnt work and so this reflected in the pricing rating. However, the location in the centre of the city, in theatreland, close to shops and restaurants was excellent. Reception staff spoke excellent English. If you dont want the gym, then this hotel is excellent. I will stay there again!

This hotel is right in the middle of the city, very close to all sites. Great service, lovely staff. The only drawback we found is that the hotel itself does not have a restaurant.

We had a pleasant stay at this well located hotel. Metro 10 steps away. The swimming pool is nice and a must at those high temperatures.

This hotel was gorgeous and we loved the rooftop pool - the photos on the web site are deceptive. This has to be seen to be believed!! Thank-you to the person who wrote a message previously telling us to get off at the Santo Domingo stop instead of the one stated on the website. Although if you get the metro from the airport the guys there will tell you exactly which lines to catch when you give the address of your hotel. Top notch system!!

This is a top hotel. Everything is perfect from comfort to location to facilities. The roof top pool was amazing and perfect for somewhere to relax after a morning of sightseeing. The staff were ever so friendly, always happy to give you 100%. Although a little pricy it reflects it in the service and I will def stay here again.

Excellent service which was very friendly. We had a triple room with our seven year old son and the staff were wonderful with him. A great location easy to get to from the airport and an easy stroll to the sights of the old town and the royal palace.

I was at first offered a completely unacceptable room -- tiny, very dark, with a single bed. I had booked a room for single occupation but had been informed that all rooms in Spanish hotels were doubles, and simply offered at a different tariff for single occupation. I stayed in the same hotel last October and had a small but perfectly acceptable double room. They originally told me the hotel was full and the room could not be changed. Eventually it was changed but only after considerable fuss when they looked up my previous booking. It is unlikely that I would make the Emperador my first choice on future visits to Madrid.

The location of the hotel is extremely central and handy for everything. The room was fine although I think we were in one of the rooms still to be refurbished. The staff were very helpful and room service was quick. There were only two negatives. While there was heating in the room there was no air conditioning. Although March is not particularly hot I felt the room was pretty humid. The other thing was that our neighbours seem to be partying till 3am. Not much the hotel can do there though. Overall a good experience. Ps For those that are hoping to see the view from the roof, the pool terrace does not open till June!

We had a very pleasant stay during those hot summer days. The pool is an excellent refreshment, the breakfast tasteful and the rooms are nice.
