The outside of the hotel was undergoing renovation during our stay. Although the breakfast buffet was good, there was no restaurant facility. A smell came up from the drains but this could be solved by putting in bath, bidet and sink plugs.

The hotel was beautiful and the location fantastic. The staff were very nice. The room was large, full of marble and dark wood, the style was lovely. The problems was that the street was a bit noisy and the airconditioning in the room did not work very well. However, the staff were most helpful in resolving the problem.

All was good with this hotel, though I was a bit surprised they only have stairs leading up to the lobby and elevators. What would handicapped people do? And what if you had heavy luggage? Other than that, it was all good.

I cannot fault the staff who are very friendly and courteous and found the breakfast offering to be good. The only issue i had with the hotel was the continuous noise from the street both during the day and at night (Madrileños like to party late!). If you are a light sleeper, request an off-street facing room.

Stayed here for 3 nights over New Year. Hotel was fine but the surrounding area not quite as central as we were expecting. Having said that we were 2 minutes walk from Gran Via and 5-10 minutes from the main square
