Great physical character to the hotel and good location. The bedroom was spacious and well maintained but the bar and restaurant facilities were poor - definitely not 4 star.

Our reservation at the hotel did not exist when we got there. As to where the blame for this lies, we do not know. The Moratin Hotel booked us into a local **** 'sister' hotel, Catalonia Las Cortes Hotel, and were most helpful. That hotel was fine and the comments above apply to it rather than the Moratin.

My wife and I only stayed one night in this hotel and despite some (little) minor points we would definitely go back at a next occasion. Spacious room, fine beds. Breakfast was indeed optimal.

Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, making phone calls on our behalf to confirm flight reservations and arrange the airport shuttle. Our room was larger than expected, especially for Europe. Great location - walking distance to museums, Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol.

We very much enjoyed our stay. Great breakfast, great location, and not overly busy with tourists. We did have a problem with the first room we were given. Overnight a very bad smell came up in the bathroom - we believe from the plumbing. They tried to fix it but it was not to our satisfaction, so they put us in a new room. I would stay here again without question.

The hotel was in a great location. The staff at the hotel was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were huge, and quiet. The breakfast included in our price was wonderful. All in all, a great place to stay. Would definitely stay there again.
