GREAT location! Right in the city centre of Madrid. Gran Via, shopping streets, Plaza del Sol, the royal castle, many bars and restaurants within short walking distance. The only negative thing about this hotel is that the breakfast was crap. But, with all the restaurants/coffeeshops/diners etc right outside the door this wasnt that big of a problem ;) If youre looking for a reasonable hotel in Madrid with great location, I would reccomend a stay at Hotel Alexandra

The Hotel reception was very welcoming, and the reception staff were helpful and kind. although the room i stayed in was very basis and desperately needed an update. The carpet had rips in and was thread bare, plus the anti-slip strips in the bath/shower which were once white were now various different shades of yellow or brown which was a bit off-putting... a comfortable nights sleep, but not the most luxurious of hotels. Good value for money and good location.

Room was very small; few amenities compared to other hotels on our Spain trip, especially when compared to the Paradors we stayed in. Lighting in room was poor; overhead wattage bulbs too low.
