Booking and payment was on an Executive room but room given was Standard. Young lady at reception was not very helpful and we were unable to change to an Executive room. We have been staying at the Selfridge over the last ten years and know the difference between the Executive and Standard room. We might not be staying there in the future.

IT IS RECOMMENDED TO BOOK A ROOM WITH TWO BEDS , THESE ROOMS ARE LARGER. THE 4TH AND THE 5TH FLOORS ARE EXCELLENT.

We were disappointed in the size of the triple room. We were expecting three single beds and this looked like a double room with an extra single bed squeezed around the corner with no lamp or bedside table. The table we were shown to in the restaurant had very little lighting and it was extremely cold. All in all I have stayed in much superior three star hotels.

Twin room was very small. The view was non-existent (surrounded by three other buildings). Limited facilities. Bar and restaurant very expensive. I arrived at around 14.45 and my room wasn't ready. Reception couldn't tell me when it would be, other than to say, 'soon'. In fact, it took another hour. No apology, either. Overall, service very poor. Despite the wonderful location just off Oxford Street, I would not stay here again, nor would I recommend it for any reason other than location.

As an unaccompanied business woman I felt very comfortable at the Selfridge. The staff were extremely helpful and, in particular, the doorman summoned me a taxi at a moment's notice. My room was well equipped, everything worked (which does not always happen!) and I really have no complaints at all. I was rerouted from the Cumberland to the Selfridge and will definitely make this my hotel of choice on future business trips. Thank you.

The hotel didn't have air condition in the summer (37C) , the shower is not working .. I had to take shower in cold water .. and relativly expensive

Overall an excellent place to stay close to the tube and right on Oxford St. An older hotel well sound proofed and comfortable. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere but the evening food is appalling. Breakfasts on the other hand were excellent

At peak times e.g Christmas/New Year the hotel was unable to cope with the volume of guests. We had to queue for at least 15 minutes each morning before we could enter for breakfast and service at reception was also very slow. However I'm sure this is common with all hotels in busy periods and apart from this we had a very enjoyable stay.

It is ome time since I visited Selfridges and I am of the opinion that it is not quite as pristine as it used to be. With many alternative hotels in the area I doubt if I would stay there again.

I mentioned to be on a glutenfree diet. This was not respected The service said: I should not eat bread or products that contain wheat! That of course I did know! The service did not provide glutenfree bread, so I enjoined the breakfast without bread!

I arrived at the hotel at 7am in the morning and couldn't check into the hotle until 2pm. I was very unimpressed with this especially as I was travelling on business, and I found that the staff were not very helpful regarding my predicament.

The hotel , which we visited about 5 years ago, is now shabby, run down and it is a joke to rate it a 4 star hotel. The double room was tiny, the sofas and chairs in the lounge area were torn, with stuffing coming out. The cash machine in the lobby left us £20 short - the hotel washed their hands of this and told us to ring the customer help line on the machine...As regular visitors to London hotels, a real disappointment.
