The rooms were clean, bathroom very small, but manageble. For the price we paid (£60 a night), I would say that the price was good. The room was clean, the heating was working, there was enough hot water when showering and good breakfast. Very good location. Water was everywhere in the bathroom when showering and there was not sufficient light in the room (only lights above beds were working) was dragging the standard down. Overall I would recommend it.

All but one of the single rooms face the street and get traffic noise. The one in the basement is quiet but smoking is permitted on the floor.

A modestly-priced hotel right in the centre of London. Every tourist attraction within easy reach. Also excellent value for business stays. Good value for money

This modest, no-fuss hotel is ideally placed in central London for the main tourist attractions, many of which are within easy walking distance, and there is a bus stop right outside. And it's quiet, even though there's a small bar, which also offers a happy hour. The staff go out of their way to be helpful and the Sidney has a good family feel, even though it's popular with business people, too. I've stayed there on and off for six months and it's my first choice when I am in London.

Under extensive renovation, not remodelling. Reception bar dining room all badly disrupted. Poor facilities, the dining rm was more like a school canteen, the bar closed at 23.00, no room service or mini bar, breakfast was uninspiring. this is an inadequate hotel. You will simply want to sleep here and get out early. I guess thats not a idea if it gets you out and about sight seeing but its no good at the end off the day, all you can do is go to bed. Location is excellent, close to Victoria St 10min walk at most, several bars restraunts nearby. It just a shame it not of a better standard with a few more basic facilities. The staff were freindly enough and accomodating. Maybe with renovation and a little imagination it may improve . At present it all a bit of a mess. We were a family party of 10, in 4 rooms, age range 13-85. There was no where in the hotel where we could all sit together. However encouraged by the lack of facilities we got out and about and had a great time in London

Repairs were ongoing in the lobby and morning restaturant. It would have been better to close down the hotel for some weeks and get all done in a hurry. No warning was given. The 'toilet/bath box' in the room was in bad shape, holes, noisy ventilator, dangling shower etc... Needs an upgrade/repair.

I found the Sidney Hotel refreshingl pleasant, after having stayed in other London hotels of the same pricce range. I do recommend it without reservation. Great and convenient place...
