I had waited for a hour for checking in because it cann't found the booking in system.

I found my room extremely clean for a London hotel, the room was also very nicely decorated, welcome fruits, (flat-screen) TV a bit badly positioned for viewing, extremely tiny shower cabinet. Good connection to tube (Paddington just 150m). I was not able to turn off the heating in my room, also I had no cold water, just warm. I had whole night window opened - it was luckly relatively quiet.

AWFUL! Do not stay here!! The aircon didn't work all over the hotel, making it too hot to even sleep. The rooms are TINY!!!! The lift is miniscule. It's ridiculously priced for what you get. Staff not over-helpful either. Book somewhere else!!! Worst hotel I've ever stayed in!

The tiny room was unbearably hot. The staff had no adequate explanation, but did their best by providing a fan. Air-conditioning controls were in position on the wall but were, evidently, not working. There was a smell of drains from the bathroom so we left the bathroom light (and hence its extractor fan) on all night, but the bathroom door was glass so we did not sleep much. Conclusion: On the basis of my experience of a one-night stay this hotel is, regrettably, best avoided in my honest opinion.

Altough rooms being short of space (at least the one I styed in) I think I have finally found the base for my future trips to London. I have been looking for a good, clean modern hotel with decent price for last 5 yrs and now I have found it.

My room was extremely hot despite the window being open when I arrived. The air con unit did very little to improve the situation. Could this be tackled somehow? This is why I rated facilities as average rather than good.

Before my stay at this hotel, i read some bad reviews on anothr website. I cannot understand this as I could not fault the hotel. I had a very enjoyable stay. However a friend of mine was staying in the sister hotel across the street and she was not that impressed with it. She assured me that our hotel was much nicer. Make sure it is the hotel at no 55 you book.

First room L05 was unfit for human habitation. Basement room, no ventilation, smell of mould when disinfectant evaporated. En-suite facilities, shower, w.c. and sink in one space - no divider. Use of shower rendered other facilities unavailable until floor dried out. Door frame mouldy and carpet outside permanently wet from shower spray. Second room so dangerous I was required to sign a release before I was given a key. Room door opened onto a steep staircase with 7 steps down to the bedroom floor. The en-suite facilities were half way down the stairs.. To leave the room I had to stand 2 steps down, open the door and climb the rest of the way. The bath step over was about 27 inches, the height of a table, very dangerous. Neither room qualified as a standard room. I will never use the hotel again and recommend that you remove it from your list.

The hotel is very conveniently situated just a short walk from Paddington Station. The exterior of the building is quite attractive (white terrace house). Our room for four people (mum, dad and two teenagers) was basic and compact, but adequate - even when an extra single mattress was brought in to go alongside the sofa bed. The personnel are obliging, if a little stern. Both the service and the fare at breakfast need some attention!

Very disappointed with the continental breakfast - no cereal was offered this was extra. The breakfast consisted of cold toast, crossaints, jam, juice and tea/coffee. Location was excellent. Rooms were noisy with loose floorboards.

The room we had on the third floor was poorly furnished and rather dowdy. The offer of hot drinks late evening in lieu of breakfast (as we were leaving early) did not materialise.

Very small room, and even smaller en-suite. Inadequate cupboard/drawer space for more than one night.

we were told that the hotel would have a hairdryer which it didnt and there wasnt a very good bar selection of drinks downstairs. we also had 3 fire alarms go off durlng the night with no formal apology or explanation.the map of where the hotel was situated was very inaccurate as the centre of london was a tube journey away and the map was very vague and misleading.

We booked after discussing with hotel staff a quad room and understand this is the only family style rooms available, however parents get the pull-out sofa and the kids the single beds - not good enough. The hotel did provide a matress and one child had the pull-out and M&D got the single beds pushed together. The room although a single room was of a good size. The included breakfasts were very basic and the dining room was like a business cafeteria not of a suitable standard for a hotel one would think. Otherwise fine and a good handy location whilst not being too central.

The room was so small we could not put our suitcases down. We put the chair on top of the cupboard to make room under the desk (which was also the TV stand)! The shower was so small you could not lift your arms to soap yourself! The room stank of smoke. Location good. A short walk from Paddington Station.
