Rooms are small but clean, and have a charming wood-and-brass decor. Perhaps a little awkward to find, but in walking distance of the West End.

The location of the hotel was excellent for the west end theatres and for shopping. There were also many nice restaurants, bars and cafes in the immediate vacinity. The first room we were given on the second floor was a shoebox and the window didn't shut properly. We asked to be moved and reception were quite reasonable about it. Our room on the third floor was a better size. However the window in the bathroom looked like if you touched it it would fall out as you could see light through the frame when it was closed. The decor was quite nice in the bedroom itself but the bathroom looked a bit worn and could do with some renovation. The continental breakfast was very good and the service was very attentive.

The hotel is in a neighbourhood with a really nice atmosphere, with very nice local restaurants and very central to everything. We were very comfortable at this hotel.

I would rate this as a 3* hotel: the room was clean, but small; the bathroom functional, but showing it's age (the hairdryer was one of the really, really old wall mounted machines). The continental breakfast included in the rate was very good.

The room smelt damp. I asked for a room change, which I was given, but the next room was no better. As I was late for an appointment, I didn't have time to ask for another room. The reception are was very smoky as a result of being next to the bar. The service at the reception was efficient and OK. The service in the breakfast room could have been more attentive. I will definitely not be staying at The Rathbone again.

This hotel is a hidden gem. Lovely spacious rooms and excellent service all tucked away between Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street. The surrounding backstreets are well worth a wander.

Granted my room was a single, but it was tiny nevertheless. Good location though.

Good quality hotel, good position for shops, theatreland and covent garden. Quiet hotel especially as it was just off Oxford Street. Continental breakfast not much for the price. Alot of nice restaurants, cafes and sandwich shops in nearby Charlotte Street. Staff very helpful.
