Cupboard shelves above eye level filthy. Key broke in lock and night porter unable to provide master key. Given another room after one hour (02.00hrs) Basin in bathroom leaked. Stool missing slat of wood. Prices varied one day to next! Overall needs a bit of love and attention. Excellent location and charming old building.

This is a charming hotel, not in a bad location but not great. Very pretty courtyard. The only downside was the STAIRS you have to climb to get up to the office. I'm sure normally there would be a bellperson to help but i got in late and that didn't happen. That is the only minor negative. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Lisbon was super fun!

Delighted we chose York House for our short city break to Lisbon. The bedroom was superb - large four poster bed, walk in wardrobe and excellent bathroom. Views not great but this was made up by the the piture perfect courtyard, cobblestoned and surrounded by trees. There are fifty winding steps from the entrance up to hotel reception which add to the mystique of the hotel. Perfect location - just outside you can catch the no.60 bus for a five min ride into city centre. The hotel restaurant may not be to all tastes - rabbit, red deer, octopus and octopus are the specialities. Overall a superb choice for your stay in Lisbon.
