We stayed at Hotel Mundial for a long weekend and as we only really slept at the hotel in was ideal for our needs. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was very good. Beds were a little hard but we were so tired after our days sightseeing this didn't matter. The hotel is very well positioned right in the heart of the city near to two busy squares where there were many cafes and restaurants and very near to the main shopping areas. Also there were good transport links for buses, trams, metro and train all either right by the hotel or within a 5 min walk. The only downside was the area right outside the hotel. This area seems to be frequented by not the most desirable charachters. However do not let this put you off as it was only for about 200 yards and once past this there were no undesirables. Overall I would recommend this hotel for a short city break.

Excellent ***** central location-close walking distance to all major central sites. Double rooms fine, sigle rooms small. Warm helpful staff. If any downside- it is that it is a very large hotel with many tourist and in-and-out tour groups that tend to congregate in the lobby in the AM and dinner timer...this can mae taking elevators ( only 2) at prime time difficult. I would definitely stay there again if I returned to Lisbon

We did not expect a hotel with such a high standard. Celebrated my birthday at their Varanda de Lisboa restaurant. Excellent service. We shall recommend the hotel and stay there again next time in Lisbon.

Stayed here a couple of times the rooms are great but the rooftop restaurant is overated, sneak up for a drink and a look at the views.

Restaurant food badly cooked. front desk attendants generally hostile and unhelpful. Check in system and lobby were chaotic. Guest made error with reservation date. Hotel kindly made a reservation elsewhere and then referred guest to the wrong hotel. Tourist information was grudgingly provided and incorrect information was given regarding whether museums were open that day (May 1 Holiday). Both examples resulted in unnecessary time and taxi expense. Bell Service hostile and argumentative. refused tip because of criticism to be careful of fragile porcelain in packages. Nice room, glad to leave.
