First time in this Hotel, and probably the last! Rooms quite dirty, noisy and small. The wardrobes were smelly and the coats on beds full of sand! Furthermore there wasn't any fridge with cold drinks in the room. The staff wasn't so pleasant and didn't offer us even a map of the city. The sourrondings are good, but not at 5 minutes of walk from the closest metro (which is not Pombal, but Rato).

The staff was busy and a bit rude when we checked in. Initially gave us a twin room (we had booked a double) and were a little difficult about the switch. The room was also a little bit shabby, especially the carpet, which was stained.

Hotel is fine. Location is excellent. Not much of a welcome at reception when you arrive, but this seems to be common throughout Portugal. They have individually-controllable air-conditioning in every room which is nice and which you'll need during the summer months, but it is quite loud, so if you're a light sleeper this could be a problem. Breakfast was good.

Hotel location was alright: quiet neighbourhood but within walking distance (1,5-2 kms)to city centre. Though the hotel was not in Bairro Alto (as said in the venere) but a bit further. There were a couple of nice restaurants near the hotel to have a dinner, o for us it was ok to not be in the centre. We travelled with a 3-year-old child, but as there were not any childrens playgrounds near, families might want to choose an other hotel.
