Hatherley House is a beautiful heritage property about a mile from the centre of Launceston. My room was small but tastefully furnished and had a small sunroom annexed, although the latter was only accessible via the bathroom. Rooms have DVD players and there is a small DVD library. Breakfast can be taken in the dining-room or on the balcony overlooking the attractive garden. My room faced the road and got a lot of traffic noise, although it did quieten down at night. The only thing really wrong with this property is that it charges four-star hotel prices for B&B-level facilities. Distance from town could be a drawback if you don't have a car.
