Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur

We stayed at the Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur for a night in mid-January 2006. Checking in was a breeze (but we booked through [your website] so that helped a lot) and we were immediately brought to ourRead more room. The superior room was charming with view of the KL Towers. It was a bit small (about 25 sq.m.) but it had a comfortable bed, clean towels, clean sheets, a safe, an iron with an ironing board, a hairdryer and the usual toiletries (shampoo, bath gel, shower cap, toothbrush kit.) The location was excellent - it's near the Bukit Nanas station of the Monorail and Dang Wangi station of the PutraLine. So, you can easily ride the trains to all the must-see places. It is also a few meters away from the KL Towers (but no matter what the ladies in the front desk say, take a cab going there. It may only be a few meters away but it is an uphill climb.) Hard Rock Cafe is on the ground floor and there's also a row of bars around the block.Hide

All over Service: Non-existent Breakfast : The worst breakfast ever had anywhere in the world Room-Service : OK, but extremely limited Entertainment : Very good in Crossroads Wake-up Calls: Out of 4 different requests, only one was dealt with. The hotel is under-going major rennovation in their restaurant/ breakfast-area. If we would have known this, we would not have chosen this particular hotel. We think of a hotel in this price-range, it is unacceptable to make the guests share large tables at breakfast, especially with hordes of screaming, undisciplined children. This does not reflect on your own Company's (HotelClub)service.

Bed size was too small. Very bad service by the service managers and front desk. The took more than 45 min to rectify the room lock issue. For that, I had to make lot of call and follow-up to rectify. Too bad service / exprience.

It is a pity that Hotelclub doesn't offer the premium rooms anymore for this hotel because the normal rooms are very average. I arrived and my booking couldn't be found. Then they gave me a normal roomRead more because that is what I paid for. When I asked for a paid upgrade to a premium room the staff announced a supplement of 200 M$. I had to go on the internet to show them that their official supplement wasn't even 100 M$. Annoying. I also asked to book me under my surname and NOT my firstname (a common mistake in Asia). But to no avail. My KL contacts were told I wasn't staying there... The Premium rooms and service are nice in this hotel, but this time Concorde made me very upset and I don't know if I will give them another chance....Hide
