We stayed at the hotel for one night after flying in to Barcelona and before driving south. The hotel was clean, well appointed and the staff were very helpful. It is close to the airport and Olympic villageRead more but out in the suburbs so probably not a base from which to explore the city. However, a good place to crash for the night on landing with a big shopping mall (supermarket and restaurants/bars) just across the road. Get clear directions from the airport if driving. Hide

Although a shopping mall is nearby, the surroundings of the hotel still look deserted and dusty as some construction works were in progress. Otherwise it would be a very nice stay for us.

In my view, this hotel gives excellent value for money. However, I have scored the hotel low on location for 2 reasons: 1. It is not close to the main Barcelona metro. There is an underground stationRead more nearby, however you need to purchase a ticket for this, then a further ticket for the main Barcelona Metro. 2. There is a lot of road construction ongoing nearby at the moment, so it is difficult to find initially. Also, the hotel has recently changed its name from Hotel Capital to AC Som, so the taxi drivers do not yet recognise AC Som. On the positive side, it is very close to a large Shopping Centre, Gran Via 2.Hide
