ibis Hong Kong North Point

The rooms are fine for one person but it would be a struggle for two sharing because the rooms are very small! The 'business centre' is a couple of terminals in a very crowded and noisy foyer. ForRead more the price, this is an excellent budget option in Hong Kong. Right next to MRT and buses/trams, cheap taxi fare into Central/Wan Chai. Small rooms which are modern and simply furnished, only spoilt by the dirty carpets. Very conveniently located next to North Point MTR and also next to the Kowloon ferry pier. Very good value for money.

The front desk staff are very rude. The rooms are extremely small (One you put your luggage in the room, you'll have problems walking to your bed). I have stayed in many different hotels and areas of Hong Kong. I would not normally choose to stay in this area but was visiting at a time when the hotel prices were more than double the usual price. IRead more would normally pay between 1000 and 1200 HKD and for that you can usually get a good 4* hotel in a central location. This time however, all I could find in this price bracket was the Ibis at North Point. The only good thing about the location was that is was right next to North Point MTR station. However North Point is a very 'local' area with none of the usual facilities catering for tourists or western busines travellers that you can find in many other areas. I had a double room with single occupancy - there was no way 2 people could have stayed comfortably in the room. The hotel offers breakfast but the choices were limited to greasy cooked english breakfasts or pastries or congee. In summary if the most important thing for you is price and you are Hide

I was happy with the accommodation and service. The rooms were small but clean. Good for a single but a bit small for anyone used to a grade style. It's convenient to busses. The A11 Airport Bus depot is at the door and cost just HK40 from the airport compared to the train. It's convenient to the MTR underground with a station just outside the door and of course the old trams too. I'd stay again certainly if the price is kept the way it was.
