+ The bed was very, very comfortable and no problem getting a good night sleep
+ Help from the Conceige especially when my hired car battery is flat
- Your guests rooms are many, so your limited staff will be unable to attend to baggage help from the rooms
+ The food and the staff in the restarunt where fablous
- The bar hadn't got a very friendly atmosphere. There was no entertainment (music) in it.it was small and decor was old didn't do the hotel justice.staffRead more at reception where stuck up.and room was disgraceful bathroom was dirty window in bedroom wouldn't close because the lock was broke and are room was joined to another room and the door was broke looked like someone had tried to open it from the other side with a knife.Hide
We stopped here for one night before flying out on the first leg of our honeymoon. I had called ahead to book a bottle of champagne upon our arrival but was very pleasantly surprised to find that we hadRead more been upgraded from a standard room to the most enourmous suite.
Okay the bathroom was showing its age but was still immaculate and luxurious. The four poster bed was very comfortable, not too hard, not too soft, just right. The soft furnishings were of a very high standard and the shoe cleaning service efficient (even when I forgot to write my room number on the bag they located and returned my shoes in only a few minutes). The breakfast was sumptuous and left me full for the day.
We didn't use the bars or restaurants as we were enjoying the room too much but they seemed to be of a high standard. The horse racing themed bar with saddled bar stools might sound tacky but actually had a really English feel to them.
My only wish is that we had got there earlier and so been able to enjoy the room for longer. The staff were courteous and efficent, this was a joy of a stay.
+ Truly luxurious & enjoyed it very much
- For this standard a jaccuzzi would have been nice
Stayed here 1 night before long haul to the States. OK its not the best and I wouldn't want to stay there for long but perfectly adequate for what it is - an airport hotel.
Our room was clean & tidy andRead more the stay passed without incident or stress, exactly whats needed from an airpoprt hotel.
The hotel rooms have a funny smell like Grandma's house. It wasn't just my room as I was in a friend's room as well and smelled the same thing. The hotel furnishings are very old and they really need toRead more update the rooms. The lobby is decent, service in the bar was very slow. We were pretty much left for dead and had to wait at the bar for our check.
No suprises here. £105 per night, no breakfast. Cheaper if you take a basic room. We took a deluxe. You get plenty of space, some nice furnishings, air-con (not guaranteed in England!), a lovely comfy bed, tea/coffee, power shower and usual pricey mini-bar.
No problems with check in as using the radisson website, you can check in on-line, print off a slip and pretty much swap it for a room key on arrival.
We tried out the bar, which has no windows and lots of wood. Public areas feature lots of marble. If your flying the next day they will get you a taxi and make sure you leave plenty of time, as the traffic can be a nightmare.
If you don't fancy eating in the hotel, there is a drive-thru McDonalds next door- this would probably save you a lot on cash.
We stayed at the Radisson Edwardian in Heathrow in August for 1 night as we were attending a wedding in the hotel the following day. It was by far one of the most disappointed experiences we have had. We arrived very late at the hotel after a very long and tiring journey and when we arrived we had to wait for at least twenty minutes before someone from reception saw to us. Even then, they were rushing us, not helpful and extremely ill-mannered. Firstly they gave us a room on the fourth floor which was already occupied. ( we didnt find out this was occupied until we went all the way upsatirs and entered the room with a key!) We were then given room on 3rd floor which was extremely small, dated and unpleasant. There was absolutely no room to manoueuver in the room. We paid a 5-star rate for the room which was nothing more than 2 star. It was dreadful! We then asked if we could have a slightly later checkout since we didnt check in til gone midnight but they flatly refused. By then we were so tired, fed up and annoyed that we just went to sleep and left early next morning.
We would say DO NOT waste your money and stay in this shabby, disgraceful slum masquerading as a 5 star hotel.
You have been warned ...!
I am something of an unwilling veteran of hotels at Heathrow, and have to say, I found the Radisson to be a disappointment.
The hotel is billed as a five-star property, and as such should in theory be the best in the Heathrow area. Although it is perfectly acceptable, it does not come anywhere near to a 5* hotel.
The 'Edwardian' branding - as opposed to a regular 'Radisson' - is the reason for the more traditional furnishings and decorative style in this hotel. This 'opulence' might have appeared luxurious ten years ago but today it is tired, gloomy and rather depressing.
I paid a low rate for my room, which may have been the reson why it was so small. The large picture windows immediately overlooked the flat roof of the floor below - complete with delightfully attractive discarded cigarette butts and litter etc - but the heavy curtains thankfully blocked all that out. Everything is on a small scale; tiny desk, TV etc. The trouser-press, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, kettle etc. were old and the kind I would expect in a 3* property.
The Bathroom is nothing special, though there is quite a large space around the basin for all your bits and pieces. The shower is over the bath. Curiously the ameneties are all in large pump dispensers, which might be a nod towards an environmental policy, (or a cost-saving policy?!)
I did not visit either the bar or restaurant, though neither looked very busy even though it was a Saturday evening.
Staff were personable and friendly, and though much of the hotel is shabby, it is clean. It could just do with a refurbishment to bring it up to more modern standards, especially those expected of a 5* establishment.
