Sokos Vaakuna Hotel Helsinki is well located, right in the middle of downtown Helsinki. The bus station in downtown Helsinki for the airport bus service is only a few minutes walk from the hotel so definitely very convenient. Breakfast is also included in the hotel rate. Quality is good enough but choices could be improved for the hot meal (such as with full English breakfast). The free Internet service as part of the hotel rate is also well appreciated. The staff is also very friendly and very helpful. One thing I don't understand is why the room cleaner does not replace the used glasses with new ones. I will definitely recommend this hotel and I will gladly stay in this hotel again should I get a chance to come back to Helsinki on business.

Breakfast on weekends insufficient for early departures. Viz, 7am. 1 free internet facility in lobby only. Not ideal as exposed to constant people traffic and noise.

The location is excellent. The hotel itself clearly above average. If there is a downside, then it is the fact that I got a single bed in my single room. Although this is of course understandable, I would prefer a double bed. I am 6'5 and for a next trip, I would consider a different hotel that provides a double bed.

We found the location of the hotel to be excellent. In the middle of the city centre and right opposite the bus and train station, which was ideal as we arrived from the airport via the airport bus link. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were of a good size, very clean and with all mod cons, i.e. hairdryer, iron & ironing board, etc. From the restaurant area on the 10th floor you had a great view over the city and the food was good. We would definitely return to the Hotel Sokos Vaakuna.

Very nice place - in the heart of the city, few steps form the cetral rail station and main shops. Nice slepping beds (usually finnish have the same). Very comfortable hotel.

The problem here was that we were given a room with twin beds despite having requested a double room as defined and confirmed by yourselves. The hotel claimed that all double rooms were at the superior rate (an extra €27/night). They claimed that they had informed all travel agents more than one year ago of the situation. When we checked in they claimed not to have a double room made up so we would have had to wait. So in the end we were forced to accept the twin-bedded room. This was all an outrageous bluff in my view. I would be happy to receive some compensation.
