While the Helka Hotel doesn't look like much from the outside, it is very modern on the inside. The rooms aren't luxurious - they are more like a college dorm room. That said, for me, they had everything I needed including air conditioning. The breakfast at the hotel was plentiful and with great variety. The internet terminal was rarely occupied and high-speed. The hotel's location was excellent -- within easy walking distance to the central train station (also the locaiton of the Finnair bus stop). The walk down to the Esplanade and Market Square is easily accomplished in about 20 minutes. Recommended!

The location of the hotel is perfect. Very near to Kampii. Breakfast is good. Internet connection is fast. The staff is very helpful. Overall a very nice hotel.

It is a 3 star hotel nicely situated in central Helsinki. I would recommend it for the price. Free access to internet was a plus.

I don't get wowed very often, but the price/quality level of this hotel was impressive, especially considering it was in Helsinki which is normally perceived as expensive. Location within a kilometer of the station (airport bus) and very close to the business district and shopping areas. Warm part of the breakfast was slightly dissappointing, but that was completely overshadowed by the rest of the experience.

There's a possibility that a thief can pretend to be one of the guests and steal somebody's bag during breakfast or at the reception. There are quite a number of receptionists and there are quite a number of outgoing and incoming guests.

Although hotel was clean, we werent given clean towels used ones were just taken. The bed was made each day but the sheets werent changed. The radiators thermostat was broken and was constantly on full. There was a horrible smell of stagnant water from the bathroom as of this we refer to the hotel as the smelka. Interactive service through the tv was offline. I wouldnt recommend the hotel, it is worth paying a little extra for a Hotel in a better location with better service such as the Radisson or Marski..

The room was quite small and the shower leaked into the bathroom (only a small problem). However, free broadband (Internet access) was provided.
