The room didn't meet expectations. It was quite bad shape. The floor was scratched and the bathroom was small and there was no shampoo or soap. The whole room needs renovation as soon as possible!

Based on some guests' comments we were prepared to receive something less; less in room quality and less in general cleanness, for example. We were positively surprised. We saw good, professional service, had a clean (albeit small), refurbished room on the 7th floor, and enjoyed a good breakfast. General: very good value.

Arrived from St Petersburg at 9:30pm and was given a dorm room, 2 beds and a tv. 7th floor (accessed by elevator to the 6th and walk up 1 flight) Had a reservation made 2 months prior and requested late check in. Asked to have room changed and would be taken care of the next day. Returned to hotel after sightseeing - no change. After speaking to 3 people - finally satisfaction. A desk & chair (I am attending a conference at the University), spacious shower and 2 easy chairs in the new room. Room comparable to the Cumulus Kaisaniemi Hotel we had previous weekend. Had to complain to get what we reserved in advance. Great location near railway station and University. Lots of restaurants nearby. Staff secured a taxi to airport for my wife in the wee hours on Sunday.

Excellent location - easy to walk to most places of interest. I was a little miffed to find charges for using the radio, though. Will definitely stay here again if I ever return

staff were friendly and VERY helpful, facilities were clean and satisfactory. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice of foods and ample supply of same. Would reccommend this hotel and would use it again.

A very third rate tourist hotel, overpriced compared to other similar hotels we stayed at. Needs a lot of refurbishment. Beds more hostel type than hotel. Would not recommend or stay there again.

Rooms a bit dated. The shower is the bathroom itself wich is not that practical. Good location, helping staff and breakfast isn´t bad although it took ages to replace milk and stuff when they ran out.

I know the hotel is undergoing remodelling on upper floors, but my 5th floor room could have done with plaster being patched and repainted. I thought the restaurant was excellent If you want a benchmark, look at the Adlon in Stockholm....

Just between 2 and 3 Star I would say. There is no airconditioning so forget mid summer. Bathroom quite small, recently refurbished, but acceptable. Huge but modest looking restaurant yet with ample supplies for breakfast. 5 to 7 min. walk to the station and 10 min walk to major market and harbour. May 2007

I found Arthur hotel good value for money. My room was bright and clean, and the service was of good standard. My main complaint is about the shower which was not properly separated from the rest of the small bathroom. Nevertheless, I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

I was very satisfied with the hotel, especially because the room was very roomy -- something not always found in European hotels. My room had hardwood floors and had been freshly painted. The hotel is a short walk to the main train station and on bus lines, so very convenient. The subway is also just a block away. The breakfast was much nicer than I expected. Good place for the money.

The hotel is very central which is a great bonus. However, overall it is a bit shabby/tired looking. They appear to have done some of it up but some things such as carpets in the corridors are really dirty. The rooms are generally OK and clean.
