The Gresham Carat Hotel is located on the edge of dynamic Hamburg, the cultural and activity capital of north Germany and the country's second-biggest city with a population of 1.8 million inhabitants. Great location, comfort and service quality make this hotel ideal for business travelers and tourists alike. A member of the Greshman Hotels chain, the Carat is Germany's only Irish-owned hotel.
Its 90 guestrooms are decorated in an Irish style and include everything you need for an enjoyable and memorable stay. The hotel was specially designed to meet the needs of business travelers, who will find conference facilities, wireless internet access and a business center. The Limerick Restaurant serves a full, buffet breakfast. The hotel's Shannon Bar is a great place to relax over a beer or whisky.
The Gresham Carat Hotel is set in the Neue Elbbruecke district, easily accessible from the highway. From here, guests have no trouble getting to this lively city's main attractions like the historical Speicherstadt, or Hamburg's Business Center (2 streetcar stops, or a five-minute drive away). Several restaurants, bars and boutiques nearby.
In 1991 the hotel was taken over by the Gresham Hotel Group (formerly Ryan Irish Hotels) and gained a truly Irish character. Since then, we have been welcoming guests from all over the world, whether travelling on business or for pleasure.

Staff were helpful and polite. Buffet Breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day. The hotel is quite convenient for the centre of Hamburg by a regular train service which is two stops from the Centre station, prices of the train service were very reasonable. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

Hotel has a good connection to public transport (10 min. walk to tram). Rooms are big enough but nothing special. Looking outside you can see the motorway but due to double windows the noise is not too bad. Good choice for somebody staying in the city just overnight and not needing a deluxe place. Breakfast buffet with a good variety of food, friendly service.
