Shabby elegance - old hotel with worn carpet but pretty antiques. Our room was like a cube, not very big but had real high ceilings. Bathroom was long and narrow with pretty ceramic tile and a big tub. Hotel was directly across from the central train station so we didn't need a taxi.

If I didn't stay again, it would only be due to the not-so-comfy bed. Otherwise, all was fine. Right across from the main train station--not a bad place to be in Hamburg as it's central and a nice area compared to train station locales elsewhere. Lots of places to eat in the aree. The hotel is big frayed around the edges and we had a weird bathroom arrnagement. One entered the room and pretty much walked into...the shower! There was a separate room for the toilet and the door between the bedroom and the shower\sink area could be closed. Plenty of places for breakfast so one can save $$$ here. The prices are good, so the value is excellent.
