very nice hotel but very awkward reception clerk who insisted we paid for our breakfasts by credit card as we checked out even though this was included in the prepaid cost of our stay, as we were in a hurry to catch a train we paid up and of course were re-imbursed at a later date when I had more time. Apart from that the hotel was very nice and would recomend it, it is near to the station and a tram stop not far away will take you into the centre.

Customer Service excellent - although we arrived well in advance of agreed time the Receptionist was very welcoming and ensured that we could use the room. His information on bus/tram routes and what to see in the City was excellent.

We hadn't asked for a non-smoking room but when we were given a smoking room, we could change it to a much bigger non-smoking room without any problem.

The location is well suited to those using rail travel being quite close to St. Pieters station. The rooms are spacious and breakfast selection excellent.

Upon arrival ay 18:00, as communicated, our reserved room was already taken; the hotel had to re-arrange for some other guest - despite phone confirmation two days before. No other room for three was available. However, the reception desk was very helpful and they found a solution almost immediately. I could not perceive why this error happened. I'll use this hotel again on my next visit to Ghent.

Newly renovated hotel in a modern style. Close to the railway station, but easy to get into the old part of Ghent either on foot (20 mins) or on the tram which stops outside.

THIS HOTEL NEEDS A COMPLETE RE-FURBISHMENT. THE BEDS ARE OLD AND SOFT THE SHOWER SCREEN ABOVE THE BATH HAD A 10mm GAP, SO WATER WENT ALL OVER THE FLOOR. THE UPHOLSTERY AND FURNITURE IN BEDROOMS AND PUBLIC ROOMS NEEDS REPACING AS IT IS OLD AND WORN THERE IS NO PROPER BAR OR RESTAURANT. THE WHOLE DESIGN OF THE HOTEL IS 20 YEARS OUT OF DATE. IT IS CERTAINLY TOO EXPENSIVE FOR THE STANDARD. BUT THE STAFF ARE VERY HELPFUL AND COURTEOUS

The NH Gent is very attractively furnished and comfortable. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the buffet breakfast is excellent. The only slight disadvantage of this hotel is that it is not in the centre of the city; it is a approximately a 15 minute walk or a short tram ride to the centre.
