Hotel Vasari is very close to the Termini, if you are traveling by train. Very easy to find and within walking distance. Staff was kind and informative - even warned about the gypsies!! The hotel use to be a nunnery or something....and from the rooms, it definitely looks like it. Second floor room has a balcony - beware though - no screens so bugs will and did fly into the room. Not really big on breakfast there even though included in the price, but I would stay here again. Clean sheets, clean bathroom, nice amount of space for the price.

Great hotel, nice rooms, very friendly employees at the reception. Railway station and the restaurant "Enzo and Piero" (absolutely delicious!) are just around the corner. The only negative point about the hotel: If you get up a little later and don't have breakfast before 9 o'clock, you might not get anymore bread coz it's running out (everyday...)

The noisiest hotel I have ever been in. There is a 1.5 cm space all around the door, merely masked by an applied piece of wood that keeps out only light, and one hears all corridor noises as if there were no door, as well as every sound and word from surrounding rooms. The 4:30 wakeup call never came, but when after waking up to my alarm clock I went to the desk I was told that it had rung two times! It turned out that the system had been turned off in the centrolinea. The taxi arranged did not arrive but after a phone call a taxi did come. I was very unhappy at the attitude about the lack of wakeup call and taxi. It was more or less, "So what?" but there was an international flight leaving at 6 o'clock. The bathroom is very nice.

Great experience - large, clean rooms, minibar (for those late night snacks) adequate bathroom (small, European type, but adequate)and an elevator (a rarity). The hands down best part was the location - about a block away from the train station (but not in a shady part) and central to everything you would want to see. The main drawbacks were 1. The staff did not speak English for the most part (especially the afternoon woman), 2. There was no internet availability in the hotel (although there are plenty of internet cafes close to the hotel). and 3. No cable (although, in Florence, who wants to stay in and watch TV?). In sum, it was a great value for the money (we paid 90 Euros a night) - the benefits far outweighed the drawbacks....Would definitely recommend!

Very close to the main station - able to walk to centre of the city. Nice clean room - only problem, we booked a double and got 2 single beds.
