Like so many smaller hotels, not all rooms in the Mia Cara are created equal. My double was spacious, had a TV, and a good bathroom with an enclosed shower. One of my friends had a single with a TV and an enclosed shower. The other had a single with no TV and an open shower with a drain on the bathroom floor -- something I personally don't mind but that other travelers might. They paid the same price for their rooms. My room overlooking the courtyard was quiet; I think it must have double-paned windows, always a good thing in stone cities. Rooms overlooking Via Faenza would not be so quiet, but the street is restricted, no vehicles are allowed, only scooters. It's very convenient to the train station, and right around the corner on Via Cennini is a superb restaurant, I Due G, which serves cucina tipica toscana. The most problematic aspect of the Mia Cara is the breakfast. Offerings are basic, the croissants aren't particularly fresh, and the breakfast room features a cardinal sin, machine-dispensed coffee. There is simply no excuse for this in a country with such excellent coffee. I had my morning espresso elsewhere. Overall, though, good value for money. I would stay at the Mia Cara again.

Great location! Walk to train and bus stations. Close to Duomo and other major sights. Don't expect much help from the staff....nice enough, but not very knowledgeable. As previous guests have stated, really poor breakfast. Noisy little alley but location makes it worthwhile.

What can I say on the hotel? I was there only for some hours, hours of love, intimacy and tenderness with the best woman I ever met... We came in and went out on the wings of love, and nothing disturbed us, so everthing was perfect like our relation ... may be not an objective feedback ... but a propitious one to all lovers in Florence P.S. The hotel's name "Mia cara" means "My darling" or "Honey" or whatever sweet name you want to use for your twin soul...

The address was a bit confusing since number 90 does not usually come after 45 so it was a bit hard to find. The courtyard is the nicest feature of the hotel! The lobby needs some improvement to make it more welcoming.

They should improve the quality of the breakfast. They should have competent personnel at the front desk all the time. Wakeup call did not work. Air conditioning did not work.

Lovely room with a view of a small garden. Woke up to the sound of birds singing - in the middle of a city! Never understood who was allowed in the garden though... Excellent price, good location. Girl who made fresh cappuccinos etc for breakfast!

We followed the previous comments left by other visitors and we must say that our expectations have been fully satisfied. A part from the surroundings (non the very best) the fact that Mia Cara is next to the train station and near the most important attraction is a real plus. The relation between what you spend and what you have is really excellent. If I come back to Florence I'll book the same hotel. Thanks

Traveling through Europe with a two year old in tow can be daunting given the size of some of the rooms you receive, so we were delighted (amazed actually) at the spaciousness of the rooms at the Mia Cara. We got the best possible price on Venere.com (we stayed three nights for the price of ONE published rate night). It was very close to the Duomo and plenty of shopping. We would definately stay here again.
