The hotel is very old and is deceiving from the outside, however, it is extremely well kept, from an accommodation point of view. There is no elevator and many stairs to climb. The rooms, bathrooms and public areas are scrupulously clean....you notice that as soon as you walk in the front door. The staff members are very nice and extremely helpful. My room was quite modern, whereas my son's room was older and smaller. We were asked to pay when we arrived, which is not normally expected. For the price, our stay was well worth while. I travelled with my adult son.

Close to train station. Close from the Duomo, walking distance. The only thing that felt like a trick to me, is that when you book you choose having the shower in your room and pay more, but literally the only thing you get in your room is the shower, as the w.c. is shared in each floor. The shower is in the room as another piece of furniture, so if you travel with friends and want to take a shower, you won't have any privacy.

The hotel location was perfect, it was only one block away from Santa Maria Novella's Train Station so it was really easy for us to get there. Regarding the distance from the museums and monuments, since Florence it's a small city everything was close and people there is really nice and give you directions of how to get to all the cool places to visit.

Well, you can literally hear everything going on in the adjacent rooms ! And the floor used to shake the moment you walked on the floor !!! Only thing great is the location, keep your expectations low and be ready to share everything you say or do with the people in the adjoining rooms :-)

The Hotel location isn't bad at all: next to the train station and all the other sights. But when I booked the room, I thought, there would be a bathroom in the bedroom itself. That wasn't the case. There were two bathrooms on the floor. So it looked more like a hostel. But the bathrooms were clean.

This is the worst hotel I ever stayed. The only positive thing about it is the area; it is close to the main train station and the cathedral. But that's it. The room was small and dirty. I booked the room with bath but that doesn't mean that you have your own bathroom. You will find a tiny shower in the room, but there is still no private WC. The staff isn't very friendly and you are ask to pay immediately. I WOULD NEVER EVER STAY THERE AGAIN!!!

NEVER stay in this hotel. We were in europe for 2 weeks, and this was the worst hotel and the only hotel that asked for payment up-front. We did, and soon found out why. The room was nothing like that in the picture. It was basically someone else's room converted. Only a bed, not even a wardrobe. The Tv was broken, with a shared plug to the single fan.. On top of that, we had to walk 3 floors of dimly lit and old steps to the room. The owner of this place is a pure cheat. Tip: Use your common sense, never pay up-front. Ask to see the room first.

it is really unendurably loud outside, even you tried your best to close the windows. i woke up at 5 oclock and can't sleep any more. of course, there are some rooms which are much quieter. So it really depends on your luck if you can get the quiet rooms.

Overall very nice, you get what you pay for. It wasn't even that noisy as I expected from the other comments. Everything was clean, the hotel owner very friendly. After all if you consider that it's by far the cheapest hotel in the center it's more than ok. Don't expect a modern building, 100% noise blocking windows, stylish furniture (the owner likes IKEA...!) and you'll be completely satisfied. Maybe not suitable for business travellers, but I highly recommend it to young tourists - after all you're in Florence to see the city, not the inside of your hotel! ;)
