After some problems in navigating our car through the heavy traffic towards the hotel, the rest of our brief visit (two days)was most enjoyable. The location was ideal for exploring the parts of Florence that we most wanted to experience. The manager (at the reception) was available whenever we needed some information, and was exceptionally helpful and good humoured - for example, before our departure, he provided detailed information of the best route out of Florence to our later destination near Camaiore. Our general experience at Hotel City was excellent; I hope to return to the hotel soon.

I organised a stay in Florence at Hotel City with a group of 9 friends in November.I stayed in a double room (no 40) which had a TV, Minibar, double bed, sofa, writing desk and an en-suite with wet room shower & bidet.Room & en-suite were cleaned each day, and towels/soap/shampoo replaced as necessary.Windows are small making the room a little dark, but generally the group had only positive comments.There is a TV room with adjoining bar on the ground floor where you can wind down from a day full of culture. Breakfast is served in a nice room on the ground floor.Pleasant staff serve superb coffee and good tea, and you help yourself to a hearty buffet of cerals,juice,rolls,boiled eggs,cold meats & yogurt.Hotel City is very close (5 mins)to the Main Rail station(Santa Maria Novella) which links to Pisa International Airport.It is also within easy walking distance to most culural locations, Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi, The David etc. On your visit, you are also very close to a huge Foodhall selling local produce.I invested in cured ham and a massive slab of Parmasan.There are also a large number of stalls mostly selling leather goods at a wide range of prices.You may go mad trying to find the best deal however ! We really enjoyed our stay in Florence and Hotel City was welcoming, and Francesco didn't give me a hard time about one of our friends who missed the flight and consequently was a no-show. I thoroughly recommend this Hotel in terms of friendliness, value for money and location.

We were only staying for one night, so this hotel was fine. It was near the train terminal and a short cab ride to the airport. I would not want to spend more than a night here. The lobby and breakfast area were pretty. We did not have breakfast, so I cannot comment on that. The rooms were a little dark and stuffy for me. The staff was very accomodating and spoke English.

The City hotel is a nice hotel located closely to the railwaystation. We had no problem finding the hotel when arriving by train. It is also close to the San Lorenzo(?) market and the Duomo (only a couple of minutes by foot). I would recommend this hotel for other travelers.

Great location between the train station, major bus stopps, Duomo, and other tourist sites. We were able to stopp back at the hotel for a quick shower before seeing the next attraction or before dinner. This and the AC's came in handy with temperatures around 36°C outside. Rooms was not too spacious but clean and well equipped. Bath was clean and well equipped. Area of improvement is breakfast. But still very recommendable!

Hotel City was in a great location, close to the train station. We were able to walk to many attractions and found the room very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was lovely and the staff very pleasant. When in Florence have dinner at Trattoria SOSTANZA on V. del Porcellana. Get the chicken - the house specialty. OUTSTANDING.

I have stayed at Hotel City before and would stay there again. Great location in relationship to the train station and close to the sights. Nice rooms and staff.
