* Friendly and knowledgeable reception staff. * Central location. * Hotel breakfast good (needs to be included in your room rate though) many optional items available some at not cost so read the menu. * Rooms were clean and we were upgraded to a room with a view of the castle. * Rooms could be made very dark due to full height sliding shutters. * Hotel Bar is nice. * Bed had a ridge running up the middle of the bed. * Room was noisy due to a heating and ventilation fan run constantly which you have no control over. * Colour scheme in the hotel is a bit bazaar. * Restaurant was very average. * Hotel was situated amongst a number of lap dancing clubs in case that bothers you. Considered opinion was that the hotel was OK but there are other places out there offering better value for money.

To be fair I was disappointed upon arrival. If you assume this hotel is as polished as it's webiste then you will realise you are sorely wrong as I did. The foyer, reception, bar and resturaunt are a lovely and stylish welcome to the hotel but the rooms ( I stayed in a satndard double) are something to be desired. Bare, poor lighting, old windows (you can hear the noise from the street below) and a below average shower room. Very central location though. 4/10

I would recommend this hotel - the room I stayed in was a good size, clean and had a great view of the Castle. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great too!

Is a standard hotel, the rooms are clean and the bed was comfortable. The only thing wrong was the TV remote control and the hairdryer did'nt work. On the up side breakfast was delicious and the bar does very good cocktails also.

The Point hotel was quite impressive. The design was very modern and sparse but aesthetically appealing. The bed was comfortable, the room setup good with a view of the castle from the window. The shower was the only downfall as we couldn't get the water to be hotter than slightly not cold. This was difficult to deal with when it was so cold outside. Our room came with breakfast and it was one of the better breakfasts we have had at a UK hotel offering eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon, cereal, fruit, yogurt, raspberry puree, crossaints and other pastries, cold water and OJ (the supply never ran out!), coffee and a variety of teas. The location is fantastic close to most of the sights of Edinburgh. There was no parking on site but we did receive a 20% discount on parking from the hotel which was nice. Overall, it was a great hotel for the price.

The hotel had given a way our triple room which had been booked since the previous November and tried to put one of us on a camp bed in a very small space apart from this I found the hotel very good overall.

When we arrived at the hotel the receptionist ignored us and served two other people before us even though we had arrived before them. We did not get any sleep all night as there were lots of people hanging around outside the hotel, shouting etc. Surely somebody from the hotel could have gone outside and asked them to move along. There wasn't any shampoo in the dispenser in the rooms. The room rate was very expensive for what it was. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

On arrival the hotel had no record of any booking . Fortunateley they accepted my signed print out as evidence and were able to find us a room. I was not impressed with Hotel Club for failing to secure my reservation, especially after advance payment. I shall not be using your service again

Can be a bit noisy late at night as a consequence of it's location. Stylish and coveniently placed Hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The brekfast advertised stated it would be a full Scottish brekfast, it was just a normal brekfast though. A scottish breccie may consist of square sausage and some black pudding??
