They could not find our booking, the hotel staff had to be informed on several occasions that the bill was pre-paid with proof of payment. There was hair in the sink and bath, the duvet cover was dirty and the room was directly next to the elevator. The price that we were charged over Hotel Club was £24 more than what the hotel were going to charge us and we were had to pay a £40 deposit for use of the facilities which had to be paid for before you could use them anyway. Facilities included, internet, lounge, dining room, bar and gym?? We could understand the minibar, which they didn't have; as nothing was booked to the room, the deposit should not be charged to the credit card. Breakfast, was ok but all the fruit was tinned and the juice was not fresh. I wouldn't have rated it as a 4 star hotel but a 3 star.

If you want a hotel within easy reach of Princes Street, The Castle etc, this is great. Five minutes walk takes you to Princes Street, Rose Street etc. We would go back.

had to change rooms as they put us in the basement, the room was ok the location good, the breakfast quite good, service good. would stay again although i wouldnt categorise it as a 4* more of 3*, ok for a weekend stay.

We were put in the overspill Grosvenor Club across the road from the main hotel on Grosvenor Street. Even though the Club was quiet, we were given a room on the top floor which had seen better days. We arrived at 2.40pm and made to wait until 3.00pm until being allowed to check in.

(1) The restaurant menu is appalling. The choice is not great and practically every main dish had a supplement-I don't know why they bothered putting a fixed price on having 2 or 3 courses. (2) The Hotel Business centre is pretty hopeless. The computer is designed to accept a swipe credit card but didn't do so. Also the mouse did not function either.

I was not impressed with the room. I was allocated a room over the road from the main hotel and it was not very warm. I was unable adjust the radiator.
