A potentially very good apartment in very convenient location, but limited access via steep & narrow circular stairs and no lift, and poor maintenance resulting in many facilities provided not actually working eg some lights, washing machine, dryer, windows.

The address on the voucher was incorrect and we went to wrong place to pick up keys. There was only enough brakfast for one morning and we were there for 4, I paid for the rest. Toilet would not flush properly, futton bed frame is broken. Desk staff not very knowledgable, nor could they speak/understand Engllish very well. I would NOT stay there again, ever.

When I booked the Castle Apartments I choose them to be near the University of Edinburgh as the purpose of our visit to Edinburgh was because my daughter was beginning post-graduate work their. Because Castle Apartment overbooked we were placed in an apartment about 5 - 7 miles away from the University. They did not make an effort to try to place us closer later in our stay but instead told us that if we didn't like it we could move. Also, even after numerous calls the wireless internet could never be accessed the complete time we stayed at the apartment.

Lovely appartment in the centre of Edinburgh, perfect location for visiting the sights. Only criticism is the noise level from the pub outside, so not good if you need an early night.

The apartments involve climbing 1-3 flights of steep, narrow spiral stairs - carrying your own luggage! - so they are not for the frail or those who travel with their whole wardrobe. The finish is fairly rough and the cleanliness was a bit suspect (I don't think the rugs had been vacuumed since last tourist season) but the apartments are quite well-equipped and the location is fantastic.

A total disaster of a stay - had to check out early due to lack of hot water, electricity was shut down, water pipe noise, noise from apartments above, and so on. Called the emergency number for assistance when electricity and water were shutoff completely one morning and was told they couldn't help. Left later that day and had to argue long and hard to get a refund for unused stay. Don't bother.

Poor/very poor state of repair. Leaking water pipes. Missing wood trim. Substandard kitchen cabinets and worktop. Half finished paint work. Misfit floorboard. Lack of hot water (one morning). Coat hangers falling from wallfixing. Misleading web photo's, standard of appartment totally different than webpage suggests

The apartment itself was fantastic BUT the communal areas of the building were appaling - filthy and totally the apartment down. A major minus was the fact that there was no lift but worse of all was the parking in Edinburgh - I have never been in anywhere that comes close to the lack of safe and legal parking as available (or not!) in Edinburgh. The first three NCP (or similar) carparks we tried were closed! It took us the best part of an hour just to find a safe place to leave the car and that was a good 20 minutes brisk walk away. I know this is hardly your fault but I feel you should know. If there is somewhere closer it would be useful if customers were informed. As I have said - the apartment was great but the staircase up to it was filthy and truly let it down. Despite these points we had a lovely few days in your beautiful city.

The appartment is not at the advertised address but along the Royal Mile up countless flights of stairs (spiral and no lift). Very early check out is a pain as the reception is across town. Quite dirty carpets and chairs.
