Hilton Düsseldorf

This was the last hotel we stayed at during our two week trip to europe. We stayed on the executive floor. The rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. We were offered snacks and drinks in the executiveRead more lounge until about 10:00 p.m. The breakfast was better than most European hotels with pancakes and waffles made to order. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The apparently largest congress hotel of Düsseldorf is approx. 15mins. (Taxi: EUR 13.-) away from main train station, 5mins. (EUR 8.-) from old town and 10mins. from the airport (even at 8am, EUR 13.-)Read more and situated in the industrial park with numerous fashion labels, unfortunately this area is quite dead in the evening.
Stepping inside the hotel you’re surrounded by bright colors and this continued in my Deluxe room on the 9th floor. Even holding a HH Gold card I didn’t receive lounge access but a breakfast voucher, well… The remodelling took place 2 years ago and can be easily seen in this hotel, also in my unspectacular room which was good, relatively spacious with TV chair, WIFI for charge, Inroom safe, fruit bowl but no ironing set. The bathroom is tight but modern.
The rather modern fitness room on the lower level has some fitness machines and extensive dumbbells, sauna, sun chair.
Breakfast buffet is delicious with courteous service and cook. In general the hotel staff, from bellman to housekeeping was top, also at the bar. I enjoyed my stay here.

I stayed at the Hilton for about a week in Nov 2006 while in Dusseldorf for a conference at the Congress Centre. This is more of a business hotel than a leisure hotel. It's located in a quiet neighborhoodRead more that one might call residental, just north of the city. Here are some of the high and low points of this property...

- Service - the highlight of this hotel is its service and the people. Very nice, very attentive, always helpful.

- Metro - the DB is about a 7 min walk from the hotel. You can get to the Altstadt in about 10 mins on the DB. Get to HBF in about 20 mins.

- Congress Center - 5 min taxi ride from the hotel or walk along the Rhine to reach the Congress Center in about 20 mins, a nice end-of-day walk.

AXIS Bar - good menu and fine drinks, not too expensive, great service. For those of you from the States, remember that you can smoke just about anywhere in Germany, even indoors, so don't be alarmed by the cigarette smoke in the AXIS Bar since it's right next to the lobby.

MAX Restaurant - a bit expensive, but I traveled on business, so it didn't matter. Breakfast was extensive, but expensive at 20 euros. Definitely worth the money to start the day off right if you can expense the cost. Dinner at the MAX was amazing. Solid wine list and very interesting menu options.

That's my take on the Hilton Dusseldorf.

We really enjoyed this hotel, it is spotless, and the staff are courteous and helpful. The rooms were super, and the waiting staff in the restaurant first rate, especially Gustav! We will definately stay here again, equally as good as the Arabella Sheraton for a business hotel.
