We had booked to stay here for 4 nights. We were given a room on the first floor which we should have complained about on the first evening. It was tiny, dark and the bathroom was not very clean. We also discovered that there were 2 function rooms on the first floor and we eventually got moved to the 6th floor because of the noise. 2nd room much better - about twice the size, cleaner and brighter. Breakfast OK. Evening meal menu very good - ate there twice.

The room was right over the front entrance and within earshot of the pedestrian crossing and general traffic all through the night. Our final night was a Friday, when an extremely noisy hen/stagg party arrived, use of the revolving door in the front entrance, rather than the constantly banging swing door, would have been beneficial to our very disturbed night.

First room offered stank of smoke, but Hotel staff moved us straight away to another room. Shower needed updating, water flow on the sixth floor was very poor ( took 15 minutes to run a bath). Apart from those couple of niggles, very satisfied with our stay, Breakfasts were excellent

Staff very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed a very good meal in the hotel restaurant which was reasonably priced.

Would expect much more for amount paid. Girls on desk duty didn't even know their way around Dublin. Asked one for taxi rates and details to local greyhound track, was told it would take 30 minute journey, it took 7 minutes. Had to make numerous complaints about noise as we were in room on first floor across from loudest party from hell, every Saturday night apparently. Nothing good about hotel to write about basically. Poor. Pick a newer up to date hotel to try.

Royal Dublin Hotel had a perfect location if you want to stay in the center of Dublin. Facilities were good and breakfast was good enough to start the day.

SOme rooms a bit small but very clean especially the public areas toilets etc. Situated on the main O'Connell Street in DUblin, this hotel is ideal for the city shopper or theatre goer.

very poor service hot water was not available and the hotel failed to inform the guests. spoke to many people and they said the same. a note under the door would have been nice rather than jumping into a cold shower. Its not a backpacker hotel, and no compensation for the inconvenience. poor show

The staff in reception were very helpful and pleasant. The breakfast was excellent, the private lounge for guests was very comfortable. Generally a pleasant enough stay!

Hotel is ideally located in town centre, the rooms are small.
