It is a bit difficult to locate. Our GPS (Tomtom) could not locate the road. However the lady at reception gave us good directions and we did find it in the end. We did have an bad experience at the attached restaurant. Reaching at around 17:00 we wanted to have a cup of coffee and some cakes. The coffee arrived promptly followed by a 15 minute for the cake pieces. When it arrived it was cold and hard. We decided not to tempt our luck for the evening dinner.

This is a classic business hotel. Clean, neat, good service BUT it is out of town in an industrial area.

Excellent value for the money if you are looking for overnight accomodation accesible from the highway. Map is useful, even if directions should be given from other highways as well. Nice dinner also, breakfast too expensive.

Generous breakfasts & dinners and friendly staff. Nice rooms and beds. Quiet at night time. And if you have a car it's not a huge drive to Dresden town centre. But if you're relying on public transport, it's probably better to look for a more central hotel. Our only hesitation in recommending it is that the foyer is very smoky, caused in part by the reception staff smoking there.

All in all, a good hotel. Clean. We thought that a triple room with 3 twins would not be a double bed (2 twins together) and a cot. Had to flip a coin to see who had to sleep on the cot!

We (me and my mom) stayed at the hotel just before christmas. The hotel located at an industrial zone, but against all expectations, very quiet and peaceful. Very clean and pleasant, the staff is friendly, the breakfast is gourmet! You certanly get what you pay for! The only problem is that the hotel is not located in Dresden itself, but in it's subrub - Kesselsdorf, and in Sundays and holidays the public transport is a nightmare! In other hand you meet the friendness of the germans because of that- they all offer to take you in their cars even beyond their on destination!!! Overall- an amazing staying for an amazing holiday in the Funhotel Kesselsdorf! Merry christmas and hapy new year!!!
